(8 pack) Zatarain's Jambalaya Rice Dinner Mix, 8.0 oz Box

My late mom got me hooked on this stuff years ago and I still make it at least once a year. It’s easy to cook and always turns out good. I like to add sausage to it and it comes out really flavorful. It’s one of those simple meals that just hits every time.

Zatarains jambalaya mix is a great starter for a one pot meal. It has good flavor. I use andouille sausage cut up into bite sized pieces. Sometimes I add some frozen corn. Before starting the jambalaya mix, I cut up the andouille sausage and brown it in a pan first. Then I add the jambalaya rice and seasoning packets. Cook it together with the sausage. Add the corn towards the end. Cook it for 25 minutes until the rice is tender and that is one big pot with plenty to eat and plenty of leftovers. It's delicious.

I always keep several boxes of this Jambalaya in the pantry. I like it best with Hot sausage. Add a little salad and some sourdough bread and you have a tasty meal. it's seasoned perfectly and comes out right every time. I love anything ZATARAIN'S.

I've been using Zatarain's Jambalaya mix for years and the flavor is wonderful. It's a little spicy but not over the top hot. I usually add cooked beef sausage, stewed tomatoes and corn and adjust the water down a 1/4 cup. You can add pretty much what you want. It's versatile so make it your own recipe.

I do not know what real authentic jambalaya tastes like, so I don't know if this is anything like that. But it is a tasty mixture and goes a fair way with a kielbasa or smoked sausage sliced up in it and is easy to make. I buy it all the time.

This has been my 12 year old granddaughter's favorite for several years now. She likes it with shredded cheddar cheese added to it and calls it cheesey rice!

of course it's not from scratch, but its close enough for perfect for our family and sometimes you just don't have time to do it from scratch. Just remember to add the shrimp right before you serve your Jambalaya or it will be tuff.

This has a nice blend of rice and spices for making jambalaya. I add 1/2 cup each of diced onions, green pepper, and celery (holy trinity). I season chicken with a little old bay or creole seasoning and saute it in a little oil before adding it to the mix.

I don't know what possessed them to change the formulation of this product, but it is so disgusting that I wouldn't feed it to prisoners! It took me a little while to figure out what is wrong with it. It's the paprika. There's so much in it that you can't taste anything else, and has completely changed the color of this product. I called the company to confirm this. We will not ever buy this product again. In the pictures you can see how vastly different the color is. You might as well just eat the paprika straight out of the jar.
