A&E Cage Compact and Stylish House Style Small Bird Cage - Black

I bought this cute little cage for a gift, for a student who is being home schooled. The cage is for outdoors with the door left open, so wild birds can be studied and photographed. They liked it so much, there may be future plans for more little outdoor bird motels.

Very lite weight cage for one parakeet. Nice but definitely more of a budget friendly type Cage. Will work until my bird gets older. A good starter cage.

It was smaller than I wanted but it was a nice sturdy cage.

sisnt realize how small it is

I kind of knew going in it was going to be a small cage but it was okay because I just needed to use it as a hospital cage for a sick bird for a couple nights. A%26E is typically a pretty good cage company so I was expecting a decent cage. But no. The main problem is the feeder cup doors. They flip up by way of a spring. A curious bird could push their head through the door and not be able to pull it back out getting severely injured or dying in the process. But I really needed it that night so I was going to work around it by tying the doors shut then I would just have to awkwardly take it apart to put in food and water which I was going to have to do anyway because the dishes that came with it were too small for her to get her head in anyway. But then I noticed then ends of the springs came to a sharp point. I realized it was going to be nearly impossible to make this cage safe for her and gave up and packed it back in the box. She ended up spending the night in a critter keeper which wasn't ideal but she made it okay and was safe for the night if not ready to muscle her way out by morning. I ended up putting her back in her normal cage sooner and just kept the room very warm with a heating pad by her perch. She is a cockatiel. I wouldnt keep any size bird in here permanently even if it were safe. Also, the grate is made of plastic which is weird.

Please do not use this to KEEP birds. This is way too small and flimsy for any of them including budgies. Mine arrived in two boxes with foam but still there was a quarter sized hole in the plastic tray. It is so cheap I was able to just melt it with a lighter to close the hole as I am only using this for a week or so for a baby bird that does not fly. Again, do not keep a bird in this it is way way too small for living.

the shipper sent it back to China and Walmart gave me a refund.

Do Not put your bird in small cages like this. It is way too small. Birds have the whole sky to fly in, they were made for that. In a matter of seconds they travel a huge distance. Their nature makes them need even more space than most living beings. They will go crazy and sick in something small. Get the largest cage possible. If possible some "aviary" which is a very large cage that allows them to fly, like the bird rescues use. Even that doesn't compare to the sky they were meant for.

Too small and flimsy ~ looks like a doll ( bird) house literally. Not for daily use for a real bird and too hard to fit an adult hand in the door. I do Not recommend if you're looking for a little toy version of a bird house this is it, your child will enjoy playing with a stuffed tweety Bird.
