My husband needed a paddle for his new boat. This paddle is great because it doesn't take up much space. He also liked the fact that the top of the handle is also a hook. A great value.

I bought a river tube with a full back that prevented "stearing" with my arms. This compact paddle tied onto my tube for easy access (Look out for that ROCK!!....); extended to different lengths quickly with a twist: and was sturdy yet lightweight. Worked great!

While not a real paddle, it serves better as a boat hook that stores in a small place and can serve as a paddle in an emegency. The 72" unit is long enough to be useful for my 17.5 foot deep vee. This replaces a lost unit from minn kota. I have not used it but it seems of equal quality.

I found that this product telescopes easily and locks in place tight. In its' compact position it is only 24" long making it easy for transport via backpack etc. as well. It is made of strong aluminum tubing which adds to its' overall weight, but its' expected durability overides that factor in my opinion.

Though the pictures do not show it, the manufacturer added a 1X4.5 inch hole in the blade to be used as a handle when using the boat hook. The downside is that it reduces the effectiveness of the paddle by reducing the size of the blade by 20%. Most people buy a paddle for paddling, and a blade with a large hole in it reduces its effectiveness. The product seems good except the hole was a bad idea.

The hole in the blade is a problem. I "patched" the hole with a heavy gage plastic and plastic exopy. Worked fine. I,d like to know why the hole was put there to begin with. Well made,use it for canoeing at camps. Needed a paddle that was packable.

Bought to paddle small boat around pond. I allways used the paddle extended to around 4ft. Used a dozen or so times then the shaft broke, or rather the plastic ring used for adjusting the length or paddle broke. Now all paddle telescopes freely and is not good for paddling. Hook handle has its uses.
