I recently started working with tumblers and resin is not cheap. When I saw that the larger size bottles at Walmart were on sale I had to take advantage and get a few. Mixing is simple, I haven't had issues with bubbles and the smell of the fumes are not overwhelming. After cured my pieces are so shiny and absolutely beautiful.
this is the best epoxy resin I've ever used yes it has lots of bubbles but you can get it out with a torch or heat gun both work just fine I would very much recommend it especially if starting out on the epoxy journey. it also works the best for tumblers I don't have to worry about it fish eyeing on you the only downside to it is that it has a strong odor so use your painters mask when using it
ive been using this (snd other brands) for years. Just keep in mind that the "workable" temperature needs to be around 75°, or you will get bubbles (or have a heat gun)
So there are several different types of epoxy resin out there. I learned that whatever project you're working on, big or small, bigger projects require more mixture. Watch tutorials on YouTube on how to use this first, and take your time. If your project requires a lot, of mix, it's best to apply to the whole item slow poured without it over-flowing. If it touches anything else... it's pretty permanent. Good luck out there!
always choose this brand for smaller projects, otherwise I order gallons online for my furniture uses.
Takes about five hours for it to thicken enough to resist gravity and droop. Not all the bubbles disappeared. some small bubbles (about a quarter millimeter diameter) remain.
Watch a YouTube video on how to complete this project. Better to watch what you're doing rather than waste matterial making mistakes. Also, a fire torch is needed otehrwise the bubbles cause bumps.
I am concerned because we used this epoxy in our bathtub to stop a leak and it isn't drying very well. It may be that we just didn't give it enough time(the full 48 hours). So if that's the case, you consider it a higher rating. But it also did not smell of the strong odor epoxy generally has. Since this is known to cause cancer, I'm wary about what I should do, if it won't dry.
I have been purchasing this exact brand consistently for years now, of many sizes, typically at hobby lobby. It's the brand I started with so I've continued. I came across this seller who advertises 32oz bottles of 2 part epoxy for a little more than I would typically pay for 16oz bottles. The title of the advertisement says 32oz and the cover of the box in the advertisement shows 32oz and a 946 net weight. I bought 2 boxes thinking I was getting a great deal.. and the numbers don't match! Unfortunately I only received the 16oz bottles with a smaller net weight (473ml) and now I'm feeling ripped off.
coated a few things and they are still sticky after 5 days so far. followed directions and it still did not work. Tried on 2 different occasions
