The best cutting board that I have ever owned. Measures 18 by 23 inches with a thickness of 1.5 inches. Cutting board is pretreated but is recommended to treat with mineral oil occasionally. Purchased two and I'm tempted to make a table out of one of them. Very attractive cutting board.
The wooden butcher style cutting board arrived as advertised. This product is extremely well made, and should last me for years. Plus it matches my wooden countertops from my new cabin.
You would think I bought this from a boutique or fancy store instead of Walmart. I actual bought 2 and gave one away as a gift. So big, very heavy, really nice! Gorgeous piece!
I got 2 of these and the spare was a gift for exchange at work. Everyone wanted it! My only complaint is that due to its super-heavy and awkward size, my coworker slightly dropped it (still protected in box) and now there is a raised ridge across the board. It was only a slight drop of 2' so I am surprised it would unseat a bit so easily. Bit even with the ridge, it was 'stolen' two more times in the exchange. Great gift!
The first one came split in 2, the second came without issue with swap, but the cutting surface is a layer of thin wood that will in a short time get cut through so depending on how you plan to use this, do not expect it to stick around years if cutting on it, at best 2 years
Picked up this cutting board because it was on sale, it's a great size and looks great. I've been using it now regularly/almost daily for 3-4 months and it is not holding up. It has the appearance that it is made out of thick pieces of wood glued together but it seems to be thin pieces of wood glued together. These pieces seem to be glued to some kind of “core” material inside which gives it weight and the feel of a quality board when it in fact is not quality. The thin pieces of wood are chipping off in chunks revealing the under layer of what may be same or some other type of wood - see photo.
I have ordered two and they're both defective from factory. I like the value and the wood quality. It's just crack in one and scratches all over the second in the varnish and finish make rsye it liw. So if you're lucky to get undamid from factory it's a great deal. Good luck.
Don't waste your money on this sport. It's just a cheap piece of wood covered with a thin veneer that makes it look like a piece of acacia. I've had the board for less than six months and within the first couple of months, the veneer started peeling off, and you can see basically a white pine board of some sort underneath. It scratches very easily as well. The price reflects its value I wouldn't waste my time look elsewhere.
This is a vaneered cutting board. I sanded it after using it for a few months. when I applied oil afterwards the truth became clear. there is a thin layer of good wood glued to the top of cheap wood.
Bought 2 boards and one arrived split in two, the other was still one piece but cracked. Boxes were not damaged implying the boards were defective from the manufacturer. Save yourself the trouble and buy end-grain walnut boards. I did with zero regrets.
