This rice cooker is really amazing. The measurements are right in the pot, so it's as simple as putting in how ever many cups of rice you want, filling water to the right line, and pressing a button. This one comes with the spoon and vegetable steamer too, which we are using to steam vegetables for our infant who is just starting solids. It is also extremely easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. I am so happy I found this incredibly easy way to cook rice
Honestly making a great pot of rice couldn't get much easier than this. I've never had a dedicated rice cooker but have used my instant pot many times with the rice button. But this is sooooo easy! One button easy! As long as you can read directions on how much rice to water ratio, you will have perfect rice or grains. I made arroz con leche and it came out perfect. I used 6 cups water to 3 cups long grain white rice and added some sugar and cinnamon sticks, hit the cook button and in about 25 minutes I had perfectly soft but not too soft rice. I finished up with my remaining ingredients and had a warm, delicious dessert. I've also been on the Aroma recipe site looking at some incredible ways to use my rice cooker. From soups to pancakes. Who knew? Not only am I impressed with this appliance, I think I'm more impressed with the company and what they stand for. They are US company with exceptional values. Hard to find in this day and age.
I received this rice cooker to make rice but I found out that it can do a lot more than just rice. When I opened it I saw a recipe book and a coupon for Mahatma rice. This Aroma Rice Cooker and Food Steamer is great for rice and makes from 4 to 20 cups of cooked rice. It is well constructed and BPA free. So, after cooking rice I made a simple recipe on the front of the box. It was really easy just mixed 2 cups of shredded cooked chicken, 2 - 15oz cans of chili beans, 1 cup frozen corn, and 1.5 cups of honey flavored BBQ sauce. Put the lid on and hit the cook button and when the warm light comes on it is done. Really easy... Great product! It easy to clean and wash and will fit any scenario your family has. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.
The very day I received this I was preparing rice for dinner so I was anxious to use the rice cooker. I followed the directions that came with the Aroma rice cooker, measuring the rice and water with the measuring cup provided and the water by the lines on the pot. I turned the cooker on using the one button and watched the red light. Then I stood by and waited. Twenty-two minutes later I stirred the rice with the spatula provided and the rice was fluffy and perfect. I then placed the cooker on warm until the rest of dinner was prepared. The cooker can prepare from 4-20 cups of raw rice. It has a non-stick surface and is easy to clean. The glass lid allows you to check on the contents without losing the heat. The steamer basket is an easy way to prepare vegatables guickly. I love this product and would recommend it.
The Aroma Rice Cooker is a handy little appliance. I was a little skeptical about this rice cooker due to its low price point, but not after I used it for several meals. You can spend hundreds of dollars on a rice cooker, but you really don't need to with this item. It is light weight, has a non-stick inner pot, and comes with a steamer tray, measuring cup and rice spatula. This rice cooker does not come with temperature or timer controls, but for some magical reason, it knows when to shut the pot off for perfect rice. The instructions that come with this cooker, has a chart for various amounts of rice and suggestions for steamed vegetables. I especially liked cooking a small batch of chili in this and the cooker held what seemed like the exact cooking temperature during the entire process. Steaming vegetables does take a little longer time then cooking on the stove, or in the microwave, but the vegetables not only retain more vitamins, but keep their brilliant color. Since I live alone, this size of pot is perfect for me, especially with soups and stews, but a larger family would benefit from the capability to cook up to 10 cups of rice without having to keep an eye on the cooking process. The cooker will stop the cooking process and switch to keep warm automatically. I am really impressed with this rice cooker/steamer.
This rice cooker is perfect for me. It makes a large enough amount of rice for a family of 4 while not being overly large on the countertop. The build quality impressed me for the price and it could not be easier to operate and clean. I am not sure what would convince someone that they need a more expensive rice cooker.
I received this Aroma 20-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker & Food Steamer in with in exchange of an honest review. I have a family of 6. My husband my two toddlers and my daughter who is 10 and my 12 year old son. So it's almost 3 adults in the family. With that being said you know i have to cook lots of food and well some are picky so i tried to cook diffent meals for us. A little bit of everything in it. The food that will always have on our table is beans and of course steam rice. My husband and I love rice my kids love steam broccoli and steam carrots. So on a busy day after work with my newAroma 20-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker & Food Steamer all I do is put about 2 cups of rice add up to 3 cuos of water and put in my inner steam tray either broccoli or asparagus or thin carrots. It saves me so much time. At ones I have all my veggies and rice ready to go. All i worried about is making my brans which does last 2 days good if kept on the refrigerator. Its super easy to used. All you do is plug it. My son whos 12 years old knows knows how to work it. This pot does come in the color white. Even though I'm pretty sure i seen a black pot . I honestly prefer white. Since the color white is a fancy color and it reminds me to make my steam rice. The lid is a glass lid. It comes with a little white spoon. Its made of the material aluminum. My favorite part of my Aroma 20-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker & Food Steamer in with is the inner steam tray. Compare to my old rice steamer this is a great size and I can steam my veggies at the same time. That's the best part about it. I have cooked in there more then just rice. On the bottom part where the rice goes i have cooked in there thin slices of chicken either with just salt and pepper and lemon paper and some spicy sauce. I have also cooked in there marinated chicken. I try to cook veggies according to what I'm cooking on the bottom part. For example when I cook chicken in my inner steam tray I will steam either small cut up corn or some broccoli and carrots. But when I cook rice I'll put some asparagus or green bean . Or some other faster cooking vegetables. I have honestly even cooked in there fish fillets. While my food is cooking I might be making something else on the oven or the stove. And of course we all know steamed rice is healthier. I love this Aroma 20-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker & Food Steamer so much. I don't regret it at all. I recommend this to every mommy who loves to cook and needs extra time . I've been thinking of buying myself another one. Maybe in one i can steam my marinated chicken with corn while the other pot can steam my rice with some fish fillets and broccoli or asparagus . I would have so much time left they might even get dessert made everyday. Maybe if they help with the dishes. I recommend this for everyone. For your wife mother anyone who loves cooking and saving time.
This is the perfect combo cooker for rice and veggies. I like the ease of steaming the vegetables and it also saves me from having to add any oil to cook the vegetables in. The rice comes out perfectly every time and requires less supervision that cooking on the stove top. Everything stores together nicely and doesn't take up too much space.
Here is what I found using this Rice Cooker: 1. When following the instructions, white rice turns out sticky and wild rice turns out undercooked. Only brown rice cooks according to the instructions, for other rice you need to figure out how much water to put in via trial and error. 2. The product splashes out a huge amount of water and steam while cooking rice. I had to clean the surrounding of the cooker both times I cooked rice in this. It's pretty annoying. 3. The "keep warm" feature works well. I like that and I have had good luck with that portion of the cooker 4. if it didn't splash out so much water, it would be an excellent size. I usually serve rice with my stir fry meals and this makes an ample amount and I still have enough left over to chill for fried rice the next day. Bottom Line - the rice cooker is adequate for the job EXCEPT for that annoying leaking of water out the steam vent hole or the sides of the cooker.
I use this rice cooker, a half a dozen times, and the nonstick surface started to release from the bottom of the bowl, I contacted the manufacture, and they said it was normal wear and tear. I don't feel that using a rice cooker six times and having the nonstick surface release into your food is normal wear and tear, I only used the wooden spoon on this I strongly suggest you look for a different brand. This is not a company that stands behind their product even though they have a one-year warranty.
