I had the simpler version of this where it’s one button push down/up. Works amazing, but since I’m trying to eat more whole grain especially lack and red rice with beans this makes it easier to cook. It took about 1 hour even with soaking the rice and beans overnight. Regular rice cooking was faster. Easy to clean to.

Great little cooker. Cooked up brown rice for two and had plenty of left overs. Could easily cook rice for 4 to 6 people. If cooking brown rice you need to use more water. I read reviews from the larger size cooker so I did not follow the instructions that came with the cooker. I used my own measurements. Add more water if you want non sticky rice!

Absolutely fantastic. I've had the small, no frills version for like 15 years and I finally decided to try an upgraded version. A gift from my mama for my birthday :) The first time I used it, I put a can of coconut milk, a jar of madras simmer sauce, a can of bamboo, frozen chicken thighs, a small bag of frozen peas, and a couple bay leaves and set it to white rice. It took less than an hour and then I used my old Aroma rice cooker to make the actual rice. It all came out great!! Then I used it to make rice and I love it. Of course it came out perfect using the "knuckle method" to measure the water, but I get a very glutinous rice (I call it "chopstick-able rice") and the overflow was just insane on my older model. Hardly any in this new one. And it just looks so nice... I'm going to make green chile and then beans for my next two meals in it. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the best rice cooker I've ever owned and I've owned a few. It has 2 baskets and one you can steam your vegetable while the rice is cooking. It has a jambalaya recipe that's right on the box and this is totally AWESOME. I recommend this rice cooker and I actually bought one for my daughter too.

I bought this to try it out I make my favorite dish and I put in a cup of rice I substitute chicken stock for the water then I add three pepper and onion blend and grated carrot some black pepper for seasoning and cook it on this normal cycle absolutely delicious I love this machine

I recently purchased a new rice steamer of the same brand (Aroma) as the one our family has used since 2008, as house warming gift for my oldest daughter. My original steamer is still in use and I have no doubt the new one will be just as reliable. I don't know how many thousands of pounds of rice we have cooked in the original and it still works great!

I need to consume more brown rice as a grain for my diet. This cooker makes that prep work easy for the most part. Brown rice takes considerably longer than white rice. The machine will prepare it perfectly with a couple of caveats. I use broth instead of water to enhance the flavor, they both take the same amount of time. Brown rice requires more liquid than is called for by the machine and I add more at the outset. Brown rice takes longer than one cooking cycle to finish cooking without having crunchy rice. I give it a second cycle, testing it for doneness along the way. It cleans up easily. Like the results, wish it was a little quicker but I just plan on starting it earlier.

The performance of this rice cooker compelled me to write a review which I hardly do. Just after 3 weeks in use, it started malfunctioning! The rice wouldn't cook even if it beeps as it's supposed to when it's done. Several times, I had to COOK it 3-5 times before I decided it's enough and the rice would still be kind of dry at the top but with water at the bottom. Wanted to give it a chance and not return it because I had been using only AROMA rice cooker for like 2 decades and the last one I used before this one lasted for 9 years! Said good bye to it only because the cord had exposed wires, otherwise it was working properly. But this one, I would not recommend anyone to buy it. Also, the coating started coming off within a month despite using a mild dish soap and gentle sponge.

I go to use the "new" rice cooker that I bought online. When low and behold theres rice in it as if someone attempted to use it and then returned it to Walmart and I guess Walmart decides to resell an item as new when clearly there is wear and tear. Im furious 😡

I noticed that after only a month or so of light use, the coating on the inside of the pot started flaking off into my rice. During that time I followed the washing instructions provided and only hand washed lightly. I also did not use any metal implements with the pot, only the included rice spoon. I have since stopped using it because I don't want to end up with a toxic coating flaking off into my food.
