This adjustable hook comes with one hook piece, one anchor piece, and two middle poles. If you use just the anchor piece and the hook piece, the distance from the ground to the bottom of the hook will be approximately 9 1/2 inches. If you add one of the middle poles, the height from the ground to the bottom of the hook will be approximately 20 inches. If you use both of the middle poles, the height from the ground to the bottom of the hook will be approximately 29 1/2 inches. I really like these hooks. They're good quality and easy to assemble. I use them to hang to solar lanterns near the steps. I would recommend this product.

I used Teflon tape on the threads for staying power in our high wind conditions. Item is sturdy on its own and well made. I used to hang solar lights by my gate. Check height, if you didn't already. Perfect for my needs…but not standard tall shepherds hook.

I'm using them this winter for my full size candy canes in my yard. I just leave the hook part off. This summer they will be used for light weight plants and wind chimes.

Price was good for this, but be aware the picture is deceiving, as well as picture on the box. It is only about 3O inches from the ground. Very short for a bird feeder, and hanging plants. On a hanger it would most tough the ground for most planters.

Shorter than expected. The description is misleading. Its 2 but barely 20 inches on one, maybe 28 on the other. Can make one 48 with an extra piece. Not two 48. Its 1 48 inch eith an extra ground piece.

Check the dimensions before purchasing. If you're looking for a set up to hang bird feeders or wind chimes, these aren't tall enough. I ended up connecting the pieces from both poles and even still, it wasn't tall enough to hang a medium sized wind chime.

I was disappointed with this item. The picture makes these look taller than they are. They measure 3' 5 inches high, so they are very short if you're going to use them to hang a bird feeder.

these are only 3 ft tall. they sre not adjustable. to mske it adjustable or taller. you lose having a second one. so its pointless to say yiure buying 2 of them. sturdy.. no. not when there is a union every 12 inches or so. definitely not worth the money

These are made of short lengths of rod that screw into each other to form the full height. In both staffs the center rod will not screw into the adjoining piece, making these too short for my intended purpose. So I cannot recommend them. But I did use them for a purpose I had not bought them for to get some use from them.

One of them broke apart at the area where you connect the pieces together. I didn't want the hassle of returning because the other one was good. A day or two later it was totally bent and did not hold up well at all. Maybe I got a faulty batch but they were cheap and waste of money, sadly :(
