ASUS USB 2.0 / USB 3.0 External 16X Blu-Ray Re-writer MacOS Compatible Model BW-16D1X-U LITE/BLK /G /AS

This thing is huge and heavy. Do NOT use a hub when plugging it into a computer, or at least a MacBook Air. And hang on, because this thing is fast at a level I did not know existed. Very happy with it. If you want a portable drive, this is not it, but it is very very good.

This is a large external blu-ray player/writer capable of reading blu ray and dvds, as well as other formats. This product is so much better than the other external disk drives on the market. I have bought 3 of these over the years, and i watch blu-ray and dvd movies constantly, this player is a workhorse. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a reliable disk drive. This unit is plug and play and works well with media software.

Good external blue ray drive . I purchased several in the past this is latest version

very good product. instructions extremely poor only shows you how to plug it in not operate it you have to download software without instructions it's kind of hit and miss I figured it out though

Nice setup, seems to work great other than region restriction pops up on some discs even though is set to US

Built well, just plugged it in and Windows 11 picked it up straight away and it has written every disk I have thrown at it.

The drive performs well and the included software for burning DVDs is quite intuitive and efficient. The downfall is that ASUS does not seem to support this drive or, once past registration, even acknowledge that it exists. At one point exploring their site one has to pick the product type from drop down menus. If you want information past that point you are sunk since nothing in the list even hints at optical drives or CD, DVD or Blu Ray readers or burners.

It works fine, but after writing to a disk. The unit heats up far more than I like. I have to wait a bit to burn more than one data disk at a time. I plan to switch. to a tower with internal optical drives and plan to the internal Asus blu-ray drive when they come back in stock.

I found the flyer disappointing as well as the Asus online support. At first the player worked a limited extent, but after following support advice it does not work at all.

I used the writer one time & a lot later I tried to use it again but it wouldn't work. I've been working with ASUS but it looks like I'm going to be sending it to them for warranty service. I would not buy a BW-16D1X-U the cost is to much for one time use!
