Easy set up partly due to Windows 11 being easier to set up. Setting from the ASUS is pretty straight forward. Very fast computer even after loading most everything I use. I had to have a backlit keyboard and this one has three levels of lighting. Would be nicer if there was an indication when you changed Num Lock, and couple other key settings but my past laptop didn't either. ALL my past laptops were HP but this time they wanted a premium for backlight and Intel I7 for some reason and an even bigger cost for HD like this laptop has. Thus far the ASUS meets or exceeds my past laptops.
I was surprised at how great this laptop is right out of the box. In the past I've always found something lacking with my laptop purchaases but not with this one. The ********* nits of brightness works better than most due to the non glare screen, the Iris X graphics, and while not rated for outdoor use it works great in the shade, which I wasn't expecting. It's fast, easy, dependable, with a fast Wifi 6 connection. I'm not a gamer, so it's perfect for my uses.
My husband surprised me with this laptop for Christmas, and even though I had to exchange it due to a defective screen with a red line on the left side, the process was smooth and straightforward. Since I bought it at a discounted price, I reached out to customer service for a price adjustment, which they handled without any issues. I decided to upgrade to the same model with more storage during the exchange, which was a great choice. The only feature I wish it had is a backlit keyboard, but aside from that, I've been using my laptop every day since I got it. All in all, it's been a fantastic purchase, and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
I needed an updated mobile computing solution and I have an old Asus Chromebook that's still in physically great shape so this seemed like a good purchase. So far, it has been! Chassis is sturdy and durable feeling, it's not a heavy laptop but there's some heft to it that's nice. Screen is bright, the trackpad is huge, and the keyboard types pretty well. Numpad has a regular sized 0 and Enter, but it has not been a problem yet. Swapping between the arrow keys and numpad and letters has gone smoothly with minimal confusion or mistakes. It's not a gaming laptop, but if you're playing old/lightweight games it's fine. Swapping between tasks goes very well, and the sound is good. I haven't tried the camera, but it has a nice privacy filter slide. My only complaints so far are that 1, the keyboard isn't backlit, and 2 the battery life is not as great as I'd want. It's not bad by any means and it's very good for the price paid. (Sub-$500) I'll admit I'm spoiled though. No regrets on this, I'm happy my Asus fangirling appears to have paid off again.
First, I was IMPRESSED that walmart.com fulfilled my order in less than 12 hours! Ordered the Asus Vivobook 16 on Saturday, just before midnight, and the laptop was delivered to my home just before 11:00 on Sunday. So far, I am happy with the Asus Vivobook 16's performance. My two minor dislikes are (1) the numeric keypad is narrow (2" wide) compared to the numeric keypad on my HP laptop and Logitech keyboard that are 3" wide; (2) the speaker seems to be less robust then what my previous Acer, HP, or Lenovo laptops have provided. Still, for this two-year project, this Asus Vivobook 6 provides the best bang for the bucks. Over the next 90-days, I will have a better idea on how this Asus Vivobook 16 handles the heavy-lifting: (building PowerPoint presentations, screen mirroring/casting, video creation/editing, and Salesforce Contact Management.
This is a great laptop for the money. It does not have an SD card reader or DVD player of course, but I got an inexpensive USB to SD and Mini SD adapter and that works great. A lot of horsepower for this money, Generation 13 I7 cpu, 16 gig of ram, it's all that I need.
Was okay for set up as long as you want all the windows crap popping up everywhere. It seems like their computer that I'm just renting. The Microsoft Office version that came loaded is from 2016 and two weeks after getting the computer, I get notice that it will not get updates anymore and have to load either Microsoft Office 2024 for a onetime $149 fee or “upgrade” to Microsoft 365 for an ongoing yearly fee of $99/yr, $149/yr or $199/year depending on the level chosen. Microsoft 365 came loaded on the computer but it's only a 30 day trial. I do like the lighted keyboard, which was something I really wanted . The battery life is pretty short….only a few hours unplugged. The fast charger does work well. The power cord is relatively short so if you want to use computer plugged in have outlet nearby.
If the requirements are very minimal or occasional browsing, checking emails, it's fine. If the requirements goes beyond and for learning coding etc., this gives up. It's not GenAi enabled chip which we need to keep in mind. For normal usage excellent but for medium and heavy use it's not recommended
I am unable to review this ASUS laptop because it was never delivered. The order showed a scheduled delivery date of November 14, 2025, but the laptop did not arrive. All other items in the same order were delivered without issue. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, Walmart has declined to provide either a replacement or a refund for the missing laptop. This has been an extremely disappointing experience.
The computer is too heavy. It was allegedly hacked by my moms neighbors and law enforcement in Cleveland, MS. With that, I had a hard time removing Outlook and windows sign in info even after doing a hard reset. I was still logged in after returning the device to the Cleveland, MS store.
