[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Avery disc labels are carefully designed and manufactured for superior performance. The paper stock accepts laser printing ink perfectly and with accurate color values. No ink smudging. The pressure sensitive adhesive is applied evenly with no coverage gaps and has superior bonding characteristics to disc surfaces. No annoying static attraction is generated when removing the labels from the backing paper. The finished labels do not curl when removed from the backer and are easily positioned above the disc, facilitating accurate placement. Labels go on with no bubbles or wrinkles. Die cutting of the label sheets is precise and corresponds accurately to the digital overlay template which is available for the sheet. Sheets are delivered dead flat and well protected by the packaging envelope, eliminating annoying paper jams.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The labels were the prefect item for my needs. Anyone who has printed CD or DVD covers understands how difficult it can be to align them properly for printing. Using the correct Avery template with the CD labels made printing them much easier. I will buy more labels in the future, because of these products!
These are very easy to make using the template provided by the company. The labels go onto the CDs very easily and do not cause any problems to the CDs.
I was a little scared to apply them to my DVDs because I didn't buy a special labeling tool, but I was able to do it by hand quite easily after the initial fear. Just take your time - put the DVD on a flat surface, peel up the label, line up the inner circle of the label to the DVD hole, and slowly lower the label onto the DVD, working form the inner circle first, then moving out to the edges, to avoid wrinkles. The printing template is awesome!!
I can trust that these labels will stick to my cd, no matter how many times I play one in my truck or how hot it gets, I have confidence that it will never come undone. Other products, the sticker has come off with heat, not this one. Thanks Avery
I had the chance to use my avery CD labels and I was nothing short of impressed. I printed 8 custom designed CD labels. I found a template online and printed off 8 individual labels.
I use Avery 5931 labels to create colorful labels for my DVDs and CDs. They are definitely preferable to writing information on the surface of the media with an indelible marker. Output on my color laser printer is outstanding due to several features of the Avery labels: they are a nice bright white; they have excellent hold out (opacity) so that if you apply them to media with a surface that has color, text, or a design put there by the manufacturer, the Avery label covers it adequately. They don't curl because of the heat from the printer, and they apply easily with no bubbles or creases. I don't mind paying a little extra for the removable labels. I've never had to remove one, but that feature is there if I need it. This may seem a bit trivial, but Avery prints text on the label stock so that it's easy to tell which side goes "up" inside the printer. I have tried samples of some discount labels that have no text on the side of the stock on which you want to print, and I have occasionally faced the labels the wrong way "up" inside the printer. I hate to waste my color toner by accidentally printing on the wrong side of the stock. "Stick" with Avery. You'll never be sorry you bought a quality product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Products carried by Avery for CDs (e.g., labels, jewel cases, "wallets") have become my go-to supplies. Although Avery-brand products are often more expensive than those of their competitors, their quality & dependability are top notch. Other brands have proven inconsistent in quality (often damaged in shipping). I maintain a personal library of several thousand compact discs, and virtually every CD produced within the past year carry Avery labels & are housed in jewel cases purchased from Avery (or through Staples).
I would prefer that Avery would return to offering product that combines a CD label with a Jewel Box label on the same page. Instead of 2 CD labels per page or 2 Jewel Box labels per page. It would be more cost effective for the consumer to combine the labels.
The only thing I don't like about these labels is that the tabs don't tear off cleanly. There are always "hang-overs" that I can't always remove cleanly.
