We love this game! Bought this first to give for a birthday, then bought another one for my family. This strategy game is fun to play, doesn't take too long, and the game board design looks pretty. Box is durable and decorative, looks nice sitting on an open shelf when not in use. It does have a lot of small pieces (intended for ages 8 ) so need to keep out of reach of young kids.
It's a fun small group game that can be enjoyed by beginner board gamers. The engagement of the strategy used to win and take down others is the best part. Also it's educational and helps get you thinking.
Azul Summer Pavilion is a cool variation of Azul. With a new wild color each round, it adds a bit of variability to the strategy and gameplay. Furthermore, the ability to earn bonus tiles provides more flexibility as you race to achieve the highest score. All in all, a fun game for Azul lovers.
The original Azul is one of my fav board games of all time. This version of it preserves the core mechanics of the original Azul well but changes the gameplay in very fun ways! In original Azul a player ends the game (by having a horizontal row all filled up) but in this there are 6 rounds, so the game ends after the 6th round. Every round also has a wildcard tile. You can preserve upto 4 tiles between rounds so a good strategy could be to save wildcard tiles for the next round! There's also an opportunity to get bonus tiles by surrounding certain structures with tiles. There's way more freedom for how tiles can be placed. In original Azul you were stuck with the count for each row example 5. But in this if you have acquired 5 tiles of a color during the building phase you can choose to spread out and build tiles of cost 2 and 3 respectively! The end of game bonus points are also well done. All in all a wonderful game! I love both this and the original Azul!
We tried the original Azul and had so much fun we bought this for Christmas. We played it last night and can't wait to play it again
This is a great take off from the original Azul.
Possibly the best Azul yet. Plays well and visually appealing.
Ordered online, arrived promptly. The game is similar enough to the original, but with added nuances to make it exciting for seasoned Azul players. The instructions are a little hard to follow, but once you get playing the strategy becomes more apparent. Many ways to win, good math and fine motor skill development.
We really enjoyed this fun variation of the original Azul game. This version is similar but adds a few new elements as well as different shaped pieces and new boards. Scoring is a bit different as well. If you like the original Azul, you'll probably like this game as well. We enjoyed the new challenge of it!
A great game for two to four people! We got this to play together as a couple after we had played it at a family gathering. I like the strategy and challenge it brings! A little complicated to learn at first, but not much harder to learn than games like Catan! I appreciate that there are multiple ways to strategize and win! It keeps it interesting!
