These are beautiful amber 32-ounce canning jars with standard wide-mouth canning tops. They cost more than clear jars, but if you need the amber color glass to preserve color or prevent disintegration, they're well worth it. These particular jars cost even more because they're "Ball" brand, with the molded-in logo. As a gift to someone who cans often, they're PERFECT since that person probably won't buy them for himself/herself. Clear jars are much cheaper than amber, and serve the same purpose if you just store light-sensitive products in the dark. And unmarked jars are cheaper than Ball-marked jars, and do the same job. As a result, serious canners aren't likely to buy these jars for themselves, but they'll appreciate them as a gift. I sure do!
Bought to use / collect/ keep .. the NEW additions of canning jars , printed lids , wooden lids .. lots of New ! Started after coming across old canning jars of deceased relatives .. Also very good for storage, storing! Recently used a 64 oz for leftover homemade vegetable soup, takes up a lot less space in refrigerator .. using the white plastic lid with seal .. have new tortoise, green, rose, aqua , which are my favs, my decorative colors .. rose/aqua ! The bigger ones make great “canisters “ to line up pastas, etc. on countertop/ in pantry .. keeping bugs out with a great seal .. preserving freshness!
Absolutely love ball jars my number one jar that I grab to store strawberries in the fridge two berries! Also storing crackers, potato chips, cookies to last longer than in plastic bags or plastic containers!!
Great value and exactly what I was looking for. My daughter and I are canning our fruit such as pears and peaches in these jars.
Great for storing herbs or anything you don't want the light to degrade it. These jars are a staple in my kitchen and bathroom
I think these amber jars are great. I store light sensitive teas and other items in them. I would purchase them again.
great and strong quality and color. looks great for storage in my pantry. not cheap glass or lids very durable
I am not a canner but these jars make excellent storage vessels. The amber colored jars are perfect for those stored items that are light sensitive.
the blade on these is too thin and wobbly to cut through floor gums or resins. it snaps off and is cheap. the joint where the head crimps in is flimsy, making the head wobble. its too small for the job i needed it for. its like 6 inches long and i needed 12 to 18 inches to make its function work properly.
While these were good quality Ball jars, they were shipped in the box of the set of 4, as in marked this is a set. Each jar was wrapped in a thin bubble wrap sleeve. However, the box itself wasn't thick enough cardboard to be sent as is. It really needed to be packed inside another sturdier shipping box with additional packing material to protect the boxed set. Because they didn't do anything like that, the package arrived damaged and one of the jars was broken. It's due to the inadequate packing for shipping that I don't recommend buying these. If they were available in-store I would consider purchasing these jars, but not having them shipped. I ended up ordering them on another company's website and that company did the extra precautions for shipping, so I can verify they're good jars.
