Every household should keep one of these. I put used Razer blades and anything else that can cut or poke someone in it. They aren't just for needles.
These are perfect for both myself and my partner as we are both diabetics. We do not have to use empty 2 liter soda bottles for our needles. They issue is that I have a sensor on my arm that I replace every 2 weeks and the there is no hole big enough for it to fit through.
I have been using the BD Home Sharps Container for years. I have used them for syringes but currently use them for pin needles and lancets. The capacity is such that one lasts me more than a month. In the Atlanta metro area, Walmart has the best price that I have found.
This is a must for proper disposal of sharps and blood stained alcohol pads, etc. I take them to my hospital for disposal when I get a blood test, and they are always accepted. Proper waste disposal and safety from blood borne pathogens is a concern that these containers address.
Since this is the only brand my local Walmart carries, I have no basis for comparison, but I can say that I use both insulin syringes and pens, and I don't have to worry about them poking through the thick plastic. The ability to remove the pen needles using the special hole in the top is a big plus. The lid snaps on securely and apparently permanently when it's full.
This is a very good product which I have been looking for
well when i put this order in it was kinda late but i can see all the horders taken almost out of the store but when i got through needle contaioner i am not a horder for one i go through them a lot. but also the web shouldnt say it has this much then i dont get what i ordered. SO ALL U HORDERS OUT THIER BE RESPECTFULL OF OTHER.....AND IN MEDICATION OUT THIER ALSO, and other things in the store the end of the world is not ending apparently ppl have been tougth the proper way in life and i can pleanty of them out thier for sure.. and ppl will never be respectful of others either.. and i really dont know why ppl these days are so enort..
I was sent the wrong item and the design is just awful! The one the sent can easily be opened accidentally or by small children. I have grandchildren and this thing is dangerous!
They sent a cheaper model. Kept getting knocked over and sharps fell out. The model I ordered prevented that from happening.
I could not determine how to put my used pen needles into the container. The larger opening does not allow for the pin needles disposal. I pushed one pin needle through this opening, but this is not practical for daily use. It was also impossible to open the top of the container. I had my husband try to insert a pen needle through the top and he couldn't. Given the numerous positive comments this container received, I am baffled by my inability to use it. I do have arthritic hands and would recommend others to choose a container with larger or alternative openings.
