Quality paper, nice smooth texture good for a variety of things. My kids and I love using it for sketching and watercolor. I love that it has perforated edges so I can tear of sheets for my kids' projects. The size is half sheet and perfect to make something smaller and not overwhelming.

This wasn't the size I had expected (I misread the description), but I am going to use this to create some cards to gift people. A friend of mine does that for carers and cleaners, etc. so I will try it too! A kind gesture most never expect! Spread kindness!

Great quality spiral notebook! Pages are thick enough that colors don't seep through! I have bought this book four times now!

Nice thick pages, easy tear side. Great for all sorts of artistic medium.

Overall it's a good pad and a great value. Paper for mixed media is supposed to be good for use with watercolor %26 acrylics paints, color pencil, graphite, charcoal, etc. It's difficult to cover all bases with one paper because each medium requires different texture paper, absorbency characteristics, etc. This paper worked well with my color pencils and with fine-line markers and watercolor paints. Can't ask for more from a $9.00 pad. It's wirebound for easy access to pages without fighting the cover and the sheets are perforated for easy removal and the 5.5 x 8.5 size is perfect for impromptu pencil and watercolor sketches. I keep this in my car's glove box with pencils and a travel watercolor kit for those “flashes” of inspiration. I've ordered the 9 x 12 as well.
