After reading some reviews it made me hesitant, but glad I changed my mind. Love the case that comes with it. Yes, you should get a couple of little crescent wrenches to accompany the kit. Now I highly recommend this purchase. The small combo wrench is well constructed but may require gloves. It make come handy if you get a broken pedal. For a flat repair and change of tube you have the tool and patches. For light fixtures adjustments you have the bits and a 1/4 socket. As an experienced cyclist this is a handy tool kit that may solve one of many common issues. However I ride long distances so, I add other items, such as spare tubes and hand cleaner. Again recommended worth the money!
The tool kit is well made, small and light weight. It contains the essential tools for roadside maintenance.
Every tool has a purpose and is well made at this price point.
This is a very decent set. The allen wrench combines with the socket to create a multi tool that will accept any of the provided bits ranging from screwdriver to allen wrench sizes needed for most bike repairs/adjustments. When using this tool it gives you plenty of torque to loosen very tight nuts and also to get into tight spots. Pros: ==== Good tools that work well. Tire levers are effective for removing and installing tubes and tires. The case is very well made (case will not break if dropped as I have done) The tool is magnetic and therefore the bits will not usually come out during use, unless the bolt is dirty or gummy. The case is held closed very securely by the allen wrench locking it shut on the outside and therefore is impossible to open accidentally even if dropped which is awesome for an inexpensive set like this. I thought this was a pretty good deal for being fifteen bucks where I live (Norcal). Cons: ===== The tire levers don't feel like they are strong enough to handle much abuse or a very difficult tire, however they have not broken when I used them to pull off and install a new tire. The tire patches are not as high quality as slime patches and would probably only serve as a temporary emergency "get home" fix. The case closes and locks so well to a fault. It can be difficult to open if you don't have strong enough fingers to pull the allen wrench out of the locking sleeve. I recommend putting a little but of WD-40 or any lubricant on the allen wrench so it slides easier. Trust me it's still difficult even with the lubricant. The simple bolt wrench is strong, but can slip on very tight bolts as the metal is not as thick as a traditional crescent wrench. It would be wise to be used only for emergencies on the trail. Make sure it is securely on the bolt before using. Over-all I love this bike tool kit and it has helped me make brake adjustments while on the trail.
the driver set great, but wrench not suitable for anything but basic use. You need a glove to break a wheel nut and throat not deep enough.
lacks a 5/8" and wrench is too narrow for a good grip on nuts so it will slowly strip them. also had to use clear museum jell for retaining the red plastic tire tools which fail to remain placed properly when opening and closing kit clamshell
Got a good deal on it but the holes didn't line up to lock with allen wrench. So unlike the person who said it was hard to open, mine just has the wrench hanging out (might tape it shut if I pack it for a trip since it's for emergencies anyway)
Defeated the purpose of buying this thing (I just need a wrench!!!) Included wrench is only for adjusting seat/brakes/handle bars, product lacks any support. Website included with product led to useless list of how-to's, instead of explaining the purpose of the tool kit... Buyer beware, this kit does not include support or a wrench for removing bike tires!!!
