This little bag of soil will do wonders for your plants. It is dense yet fluffy to give a nice consistency to drain and hold water well. Soil is rich and all my plants did well flourishing all year in it. I highly recommend this little bag of wonderful it has made my plants happy.
We used this all-purpose container mix when planting our vegetable garden. Our tomato, bell pepper and zucchini plants have never looked so healthy! They were 6" plants when we got them and we have never seen them take off so fast. We mixed a handful of this into each hole that we dug and won't have to feed them again for 3 months. It comes in a nice size 6 quart bag, which was enough for our whole garden. I plan to but another bag of this to feed my house plants.
I love that this container mix is organic. I don't have to worry about the chemicals that are potentially hiding inside. This can be used for vegetables or flowers! It contains the white foam beads to help with keeping the soil hydrated. The mix is also like the texture of finely ground compost or mulch. Lots of oxygen will get to the roots of these plants! It's a blend of peat moss and other natural ingredients. This can be used for indoor or outdoor containers. Feels rich. I love it!
I like this soil, it seems to be well developed and good for garden plants that you start indoors before transplanting! Would also work well for house plants too but I didn't use it for that.
I love plants, and although I don’t claim to have a green thumb, I still like seeing what I can achieve with all different types of palms and dracaenas. While I try to eat as much as organic food as possible, I have never tried an organic potting mix. So, I was very excited to try this natural and organic container mix from Better Homes & Gardens! The peat in this organic potting mix comes from sustainable Canadian bogs, and the mix is made with fully composted bark so that your plants can thrive without being depleted of important nutrients that help them grow. This potting mix is said to feed your plants for up to 3 months and is great for new plants or for re-potting plants you already enjoy in and around your home. Keep in mind that the bag isn’t very large, so depending on your project you may need more than 1 bag. For example, one bag of this mix can be used to fill a window box or two hanging baskets. I originally wanted to try this because I was attempting to cultivate some seedlings from both kumquats and grapefruit. The grapefruit are sprouting, but I just realized that I likely need a certain mix for seedlings as opposed to this one. Nevertheless, I have a palm that I will re-pot with this organic soil, which feels so light and fluffy when handling it. I can’t wait to see what happens with this palm!
This Better Homes & Gardensu00AE Natural & Organic Professional Container Mix is my first time using this mixture. I used similar Better Homes & Garden organic mix and had no problems with excellent veggies. I believe you will be happy you gave it a try.
I really liked working with this potting soil. It doesn’t have big pieces (chunks) of wood or fillers. Making it easier to plant seeds or replant the larger plants you already have. It is very clean and makes you feel safe to put your hands in and work with it. I mixed it in with some of the garden soil (dirt) from the original planted Aloe Vera plant because they do not like total change of environment. Since adding this potting mix the plants have really grown and seem to love their new organic food Will replace some of the soil in three months with more of this potting soil
I bought this to start some vegetables in the house before planting them in the garden. I opened the bag and it was completely filled with little bugs. I couldn’t figure out why my house plants suddenly had bugs on them, so I had to get some spray to kill them. I had zero problems until I brought this bag of soil into the house. I couldn’t believe when I opened the bag and there were bugs crawling everywhere. I was thankful to know at least where they cam from.
Until this week's purchase of this Better Homes and Gardens organic potting soil, this product was by far my favorite brand of potting soil. However, my most recent purchase of this potting soil was nothing like previous purchases of the same product, in that it appears to have more mulch in the mixture and/or sphagnum peat moss in it. When I opened this bag of potting soil, at least 10 gnats flew out of the bag, and the soil was in large, moist clumps rather than the previous fluffy texture. Better Homes and Gardens, please return to your previous formula for making your organic potting soil. My plants have thrived in my previously purchased potting soil from your company, and I will not use more of this newest purchase.
I needed to transplant several of my house plants... a few days later my house was infested with gnats. only in the area where the plants were.... My bedroom and bathroom. no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the gnats, so I had to get rid of my plants
