Even though the package says this is a soft white, it is more of a soft yellow. After years of daylight bulbs, which has more of a brighter blue light, this was an adjustment and at first I didn't know if I would like it or not. However, after a few days of adjustment, I really like it. I have daylight bulbs in my overhead light, but I have this in my reading light. Since this bulb gives off more of a soft glow, it seems easier on my eyes when I am reading, etc., and even watching t.v., and it doesn't reflect off the t.v. the way a brighter bulb would. However, don't get the wrong impression. These bulbs do not give off a dim light. I can still see clearly when I read, etc. without having to strain my eyes. One note, though. I would not use these bulbs in an overhead light unless you want more of a soft yellow glow as opposed to a clear white light.

Great bulbs, love the golden glow in my Farmhouse chandelier! My picture doesn't show the true glow, it's more of a fire glow. Hard to explain. Just choose these!

Perfect for bathroom - lighting is soft and not harsh. Looks great in glass dome light fixtures.

I am giving only 5 stars because 1 came broken in mail and i had to go to the store and get a another pack of 2. It has a nice, soft light and not too bright for my overhead light above kitchen sink.
