Big Horn 40in Ranch Fire Pit, with Cover

We bought this upscale version because the one we wanted would not arrive in time, but we are happy with the results. The design and construction are light-years ahead of our first fire pit of many years back, and the added features are useful without overloading the simplicity of having a fire pit in the first place. We especially liked the handy log rack for propping up larger sticks, and the way the mesh sides keep the embers contained while allowing air to circulate and give a nice view of the fire at the same time. The reinforcing ring around the legs makes the entire thing quite sturdy, and yet it's light enough for one person to carry even with the grill rack installed. Another nice touch is the heavy duty outdoor cover. And the poker is minimalist but gets the job mostly done, just requiring a little extra finesse for moving around the bigger logs. The coating seems durable, but since it's brand-new we can't judge that yet. I will say that assembly takes patience and a friendly helper. Our unit came with two bent shelf pieces, which I was able to straighten out with the help of experience and tools, but the alternative would have been to wait weeks for replacement parts. And the directions are unclear in a couple of places — make sure to line the hole in the shelf unit up with the sleeve on the fire pit body before you proceed, is all I'll say about that. In all: we are very happy with our purchase and will be giving it a workout!

So glad that I went with this My family has enjoyed this fire pit many times. Holds larger pieces of wood and even has a tray for charcoal. Doesn't rust and also comes with a cover for winter.

The size and overall appearance is great. the assembly should be easier and the final design is just slightly misaligned around the edge of the top, but for the money and quality its a great buy.

a little hard to assemble the ring on the bottom alone otherwise easy to assemble and works great. I dont reccomend using the log holder thing though it wouldnt let my logs burn together just stack normally.

Con: Shipping was slow Pro: it was easy to put together and looks quite good. Con: on it's first use the grill immediately warped, which should not happen to a cooking surface. Pro: I called support and explained the situation and they immediately processed a replacement part. By far the best support I have received in a long time. Overall a great product with a minor flaw that was addressed immediately. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would.

Well made, bolts were all over the box inside but all found. Fedex delivered to wrong house. Really need to make address bigger on shipping labels. label was clear and correct, but FedEx delivered in the dark. They sent me proof of delivery at another house, some proof, good thing neighbor was honest!

I got a display and didn't ask for one. I'm just glad I didn't ask for it to be assembled because that was another $90! One of the grill plates is rusted in 2 places and since it was a display, it was dirty in the bottom. I've never had a problem with Walmart items, until now! I've got pictures of it to prove it! I need a replacement immediately or my money back.

The box arrived with a hole. Once opened that is when we saw the mesh inside was ripped through and the inside box with the screws was opened and there were screws all over.

This firepit checked off all the boxes, large, had an adjustable cooking grate, looked good. After assembly, which is putting together quite a few pieces and parts, I determined the "adjustable" piece for the cooking grate was defective, it did not have the pre-drilled holes to make this actually adjustable. No biggie, a warranty card came with it that stated all parts were under warranty by manufacturer. Two months after contacting them they reached out. Long story short, they won't warranty the part as it was "Sold and Shipped by Walmart". They will not send me the replacement part, and Walmart wants me to ship back the whole thing! Ridiculous for a small part, and how do I know the new one won't have the same problem. Beware of any products manufactured by Shinerich which this Bighorn is.

i bought for grilling with wood but the grate is so high that even let in it all the way down it takes forever to cook.
