Zip Premium Firestarter Cubes, All Purpose, Weather-Resistant, 12 Count

Makes lighting a campfire easy if you have a hard time at it. They are just about the size of a Bic lighter. They smell a little like like kerosene even though it states that they are odorless. They come in a box of 12. You can take them all or just carry a few on your hike. They are a convenient size. The ones I lit burned for 16-18 minutes. It also came with a paper telling what wood types are better for heat, a slow burn or kindling. Just light the wrapper on an individual piece, add some kindling, then larger pieces of wood and you are on your way to a nice wood fire. Can be used indoors or outdoors. Convenient!

I took these Firestarter wood blocks out on the patio to test them out. You could smell a slight hint of kerosene when I opened the package, so I wasn't doubtful that they were ready to ignite. It was quite windy out, but as soon as the match touched the bag, the fire began to swell. Within seconds the entire block was on fire, but was not burning too fast. The package claimed that the brick would burn for up to 18 minutes; however, mine stayed lit for 22 minutes. Which is more than enough time for wood to get started and off to a good burn. Not only are they good for fireplaces, my first thought was winter safety in the event of an emergency, where building a fire is needed. So of course, I'm storing them in my car along with other winter safety items. I'll take them out as needed for inside and before spring. I'm taking them out because, even with that slightest scent of kerosene, I'm careful to keep them away from direct sunlight or heat. They are also safe to use for getting charcoal grills started. Lightweight and easy to carry along.

I took a couple of Zip Premium Fire Sticks to my daughters to try out in her wood burning stove. Her husband took one stick out, placed it in the fireplace, wrapper and all, with the wood, lit the wrapper, and within a few minutes, it was the start of a roaring fire. We could not believe how easy, quick, and without any mess, the Zip Fire Sticks were to use. They can be used in inside fireplaces, and outside fireplaces. Good to use with grills, firepits, wood stoves, or bonfires. You don't have to hunt for twigs, small pieces of wood, or paper to start the fire with if you have the Zip Premium Fire Sticks. The box isn't that big, and they aren't that expensive, so you could have a box placed near your inside fireplace, outside fireplace, firepit, grill, and even keep a box in your car for when needed. Never worry about how or if you are going to get your fire started. It is that easy, and dependable. There is nothing more relaxing and beautiful than looking at a fire, so with the Zip fire sticks, there is no excuse not to have a fire. Enjoy!

I have needed these for quite some time. So far, I used them in a burn barrel and an indoor wood fireplace. The contents in the burn barrel were quite damp and I was unsure it would even catch fire but I just lit one of these things on fire, tossed it in and it caught fire in no time and stayed burning. In my wood fireplace I usually have to buy one of those starter logs but not this time. I lit one of these things on fire and it was a no time that it caught the wood on fire. I also noticed that there was no odor whatsoever from them. I will refresh my stock when I run low.

These little sticks are AMAZING!!! I've been fussing with fires and charcoal for years. But never again. The last grill I bought, was a gas grill, merely because I was frustrated with how long it would take to get the charcoal going. These sticks are perfect for charcoal grills or grilling at the park or getting bonfires going. These would make a beachside bonfire easy. :) These are super easy to use, perfectly effective and superbly portable. 12 come in a box. They are small but mighty. You just light the wrapper and put whatever you're burning on top and/or below. It really catches fast and stays aflame for at least 20 minutes...mine did for longer. It has a perfectly consistent flame...about 6"x 6" flame. These are ideal for wet or hard-to-burn wood...and of course charcoal. I planned on trying these out on a bonfire with soaked wood, but all of the snow melted and left a "small pond" around our firepit, so I couldn't even get to the pit. I just ended up burning boxes that I had near the remaining ice/"pond". In my opinion, these are much safer to use than lighter fluid. I will never again use lighter fluid. You don't even need kindling with these. I am super impressed and going to be getting a few boxes of these as gifts for my sisters. One sister camps off and on most of year. Another sister uses a wood-burning furnace to heat her home. She will very much appreciate these. If we had a real fireplace in our home, I would definitely use a brick each and every time I lit a fire. They burn clean and have no odor.

I am used to using paper to help ignite my fireplace flames and to keep the fire going. This product I was eager to try to help make that process easier. It works. I use hardwood, and I placed three pieces of wood together and put this fire starter block between them. I lit the fire starter block and watched as it immediately caught fire and continued to burn. It lasted about 12 minutes, and I used another when my fire died. My second attempt was easier. I monitored the fire, and when the fire began to dim, I added more wood and kept the fire going that way, without adding another fire starter cube. Who has time for that though? No smells and no smoke. The first time I used the cube, I removed the plastic covering before I added it to the fire. The smell of kerosene is strong, then. The second time, I just placed the cube in the fireplace, plastic wrap and all. The package gives great instructions for using the product, and even advice on wood types for burning different types of fires for different purposes. Great product to be used inside and outside for your fire building needs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs to light a fireplace, campfire, barbecue grill, etc. Thank you Walmart Spark Reviewer for allowing me to try this product.

If you just read the front of the box you will be happy with trying this product. With that being said these fire starter sticks are awesome. They are so easy to use, just light the wrapper and watch it work. They last up to 18 minutes and it is recommended to use 2 of them for something like your fireplace. I used 2 in mine. they lasted at least 15 minutes and by that time I had an awesome fire going. They are safe, odorless, and easily convenient to use. They also light instantly too. I can see the many use's too, camping, tailgating, hiking, or even going to the beach. They are great for many types of wood, a lot of which are the most popular. The name on the box "ZIP" is right on. In order to appreciate how well and fast this product works you will need to try it, but you will be glad you did. I know I was and will continue to use them on those occasions that need to get my event easily started. I highly recommend you try these. You can thank me later.

These are super easy to use and are tiny but mighty.

These are good to have whether you are camping or for a cozy fire in the backyard fire pit. I love the fact that they come individually wrapped and you can just put it into your woodpile and light the package itself. If you have good tinder and not trying to start a big fire you can break it in half or thirds even light it up and let it get the tinder and wood going. Being small in size to start with they are great to throw into a waterproof bag and carry with you camping, canoeing, river rafting or where ever you may go and want to start a campfire to warm up on your travels.

packaging the order came in was utter chaos, all three product packages had burst open apparently because there was no (eg) bubble pack to keep the individual product boxes from being thrown around inside the main shipping carton. Had to utilized ziplock bags for substitue storage. The actual firestarter product is a good product.
