I like the small light weight bag. Very dry small chips that burn easily. I like to add a handfull of these to the top of my hot coal bed. They quickly smoke the grilling foods In cooking with a hickory smoke flavor with the lid on my grill. Quite a few handfuls in the bag. Easy way to add smokey flavor to burgers and veggies.

After years as a BBQ master, this is one of only two brands my husband will consider using in his smoker. We purchase one brand or the other depending on the best price. We love a good Hickory smoke, it works with nearly every meat type and is a flavorful smoke. It is not too overpowering and you cannot beat the value for this bag of Hickory

the aroma from the hickory is excellent. brings back memories of first learning the Weber. I also got the misquite flavor and I'm going to try it out next time I grill out.

Just the facts: The first thing I noticed about Western Premium Smoking Chips is that they did not cause any noticeable amount of moisture build up in the smoker, which for me means they are dried long enough during the manufacturing process to remove most, if not all of the natural moisture in the wood. This has been an issue I've had over the years with other popular brands of smoking chips not dried long enough in my opinion. Moisture (black liquid smoke) would drip down leaving a nasty, bitter taste on the food. With that said, we honestly enjoy the flavor and the short time it takes for the chips to start smoking in our Little Chief smoker. We'll continue using Western Premium Smoking Chips as long as they keep the price reasonable. - Happy Smoking!

These wood chips work in an electric oven too (at 450 degrees), which gives nice aroma (not eye-hurting 'smoke' but real smoky aroma). These chips are bigger pieces so I see that they are meant for charcoal grill and barbecue. I also do cold smoking for drinks with a smoking kit, for which these wood chips are too big.

Great smoky flavor when placed inside a smoke box and placed directly on grate next to food. I use this method to increase the smokiness on my King Chii pellet grill.

Good price for chips these best work in a standard charcoal grill in a one and done thing. Is their better brands? yes. But for the price these chips and they have three flavors are very cheap . Open the bag in the morning and fill with water let them soak all day then drain and use. YOu will get better smoke and it will not burn up as fast
