Expert Grill Instant Lighting Charcoal Briquettes, 12 lb

This company is really looking to make a name for itself! I recently purchased an Expert Grill company grill. The price was considerably less than the most popular brand and the weight of the package was heavier - which indicates to me a better quality product. The grill is fabulous so I decided to try their briquettes. Easily lit up and burned consistently. Much more pleased than the common k brand. Will purchase again for sure!

I was worried that this would not light as well as charcoal and fluid but I was happy to find that it did a great job and even lit easily on a windy day.! The coals burned to white quickly and lasted longer than I expected—enough to do two batches of steaks with just a few handsful of charcoal and was still quite hot for a long time after that. The price was comparable to reqular charcoal that requires lighter fluid so using this saved me several dollars I would have had to spend on fluid. Really a great bargain and good value. I will definitely be using this the rest of the summer since it works so well, saves money and no messy, dangerous lighter fluid to deal with and I recommend it to anyone who does charcoal grilling!

I bought these for a cookout recently because my normal brand was out of stock. I’ve been overpaying for a long time apparently. These work just as great and cost much less. The are ready to light without additional fluid, and burn pretty evenly overall. I will be buying again for sure.

Once you get them cooking, it burns hot but doesn't last too long at high heat. Remember with self-lighting you have to wait 10-15 minutes for the lighter fluid/chemical smoke to go away before you use that to cook food. We had a much harder time lighting these compared to brands like Publix.

The briquettes are smaller than kingsford. It does light right up like it should, and I noticed it burns faster. Ready in about half the time. Of course that means it burns for about half the time as well so good for use if in a hurry. I use Applewood chunks with my charcoal, so I can't say much for flavor because I never use just charcoal.

As a first time griller I purchased this because I didn't want to mess with lighter fluid . These took a while to light and some of them didn't stay lit . I used one side which was the lit side and once I started cooking it seemed to start spreading evenly . Overall would I purchase again yes but I would also use a charcoal chimney starter

I purposely bought this charcoal so that I wouldn't need to buy lighter fluid or a chimney. I've used lighter fluid coated charcoal before with great success. This bag of charcoal has been significantly harder to light than regular non-coated charcoal. I have wasted hours trying to get it to light and still had it go out on me. I went out and bought a bag of the name brand stuff (you know the one), not even the kind with lighter fluid, and it is SO much easier to light. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase.

this charcoal is supposed to light without lighter fluid. it doesn't I'm still trying to light it so I can have a barbecue. the charcoal is not burning it's not cooking my food I don't recommend this product at all and I will be returning the product

This is the worst charcoal. yes it does its job but everything ai cooked tasted like the charcoal and the fumes coming off the grill were sooo bad smelled like gas

I tried several times to get it lite but it took 1 hour to get a small pile to start. So disappointed will never buy again. I am assuming it was not stored right !
