I didn't pay much for these so I was pleasantly surprised with quality. I have a finished garage with a 12 ft ceiling yet there was plenty of rope to spare. The hardest part was finding the ceiling joist.
The price was lower than other models, but the quality was the same. I liked the bright green color too.
great to get the bikes out of the way, good value for 2 of them, wow
Bike Lane Bicycle storage lift is an amazing way to clear up some space in your garage. It works great. It has a weight limit of 100lbs so just be mindful of that. The installation process takes alittle bit of time but it's not difficult to install. The Installation process took me about an hour and it was ready to go. I would definitely recommend this product.
Installing this one a little tricky because you do need a ladder and a few other things. A second person would make things a bit easier also. I recommend using different screws than what it came with. They are kind of cheap. If you are using your bike every dayI'm not sure I would recommend this kind of storage. But if you only use it once a week then it's worth it hoisting it up and down. I recommend bending the hooks a little more to hold the bicycle in place better
Good product only detail is that the hocks are to straight and there's not a lot of places to adjust the them in to the bike, I had to play with combinations on how to hoist them without having them fall on top of my car.
I thought this storage lift bike hoist was really easy to install and put together. Have to remember to install it on something that is stable like a straight wooden plank and something strong enough to hang the lift and a bike. Another thing to think about when installing is the height of where you want your bike to be, you don't want it to be too high where you will have trouble getting the bike on and off the storage lift. One thing I would improve on this would be the hooks that hold onto the bike seat and the steer bars. I feel like if the hook was more curved it would have a better hold of the bike in case of any movement or a natural disaster like a earthquake. The materials use for the lift seem to be sturdy and made with quality material though. Honestly not too sure how long the rope is going to last since it is the plastic type material and it will start to degrade in changing weather through hot and cold especially if you install it in the garage.
I have to knock down a star to ease of installation, but the overall look and effectiveness of the bicycle heavy duty bike hoist is perfect for my needs. Since it comes in a two pack its perfect my husband and my bike. Storage space has always been a struggle in our garage so taking the bike and putting them hoisted in the air made a lot more space for the cars. Its doesn't look flimsy and appears to be sturdy enough for both the bikes. Since we have moderately high ceiling it was a bit uncomfortable during installation other than that it works like its supposed to.
The product does exactly what it's meant to and the best part is that it seems very sturdy so I'm not concerned with it breaking or dropping my bike, but it does take time to install and mount it accordingly and there is the issue where it's a bit of a hassle to remove your bike from the hoist and put it back on, since bikes can be heavy and lifting them up in the air and trying to align them after you just finishing a long bike ride and are tired seems a little harder than anticipated, so I don't see myself using this all the time. The hoist does have adjustments, though, which makes it easier to attach your bike to it, but that doesn't change that fact of it being a hassle.
The rope supplied with this hoist had been spliced in two places. Neither splice would pass through the clamping mechanism for the hoist and one of the splices broke within just a few uses. I've replaced the rope with something more appropriate for the use.
