Works Best For Small Items
Having used Birchwood Casey plum Brown in the past, I knew what I was purchasing. I use this product primarily for small parts that would be time consuming to use cold rust bluing. It's quick and easy to use in that manner. However, I've never had much luck trying to brown larger parts, such as barrels, with this product.

Brown rust finish.
Looks like a rust finish. Tried to refinish the rear AR15-A2 sight which is brown, not black. Just looked like dirty brown rust. This may be true to life look for a 1700 rifle, but not what I needed.
