Black Kow Organic Compost and Manure, Soil Conditioner, 1 cu. ft.

I added this all-natural cow manure to my vegetable garden this spring, and the difference has been noticeable almost immediately. The texture is rich and well-composted, with no large chunks or overpowering odor — exactly what you want in a manure product. I mixed it into the soil about two weeks before planting, and it’s made a huge impact. My tomatoes, squash, and melons are all growing faster and looking greener than in previous years. It’s clear this manure has great nutrient content and helps with soil structure, especially in raised beds and heavy clay soil like mine.

Compared to other types of composted manure I have used, this was pretty decent. Some brands are full of wood chips and sand, while this was mostly dark, composted material containing only small bits of wood. Keep in mind this is not all manure, but composted with "soil". As such it has very low NPK nutrient content. If you want higher nutrients you will have to pay more for actual manure, not composted manure. I thought this good for the price.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this big box store manure compost. I purchased along with a different brand bag of manure compost and it's definitely superior in color, smell, texture, and moisture. The Black Kow is very dark, nearly black, and has no foul odor just a nice earthy smell like healthy compost. Very moist and very few if any larger chunks or sticks. I make my own compost but ran out and needed help filling some new pots in my vegetable garden, this is definitely the brand I'll plan to use in the future if needed.

Website specification states bag weight at 35 pounds. But upon delivery bag reads 28 pounds. False advertisement. Especially when trying to find the best deal for your dollar at these times.

About 25% of the volume is sticks, some very big, then I found some rocks, clay pieces and other materials like sand, one piece of fresh cow patty and one piece plastic. This is not a great deal at all, considering you either need to sift through the sticks or put it as it is, and it will deplete nitrogen from your plants as it decays! Will not buy again.

I've been getting the same brand name and size from other local store in person. The quality is great, smell like menure as well as texture and color. What I received thru Walmart was so extremely insane. The bag consisted of dry dirt and small pieces of wood chips. No menure odor. Look at the color: light brown. How could they sell less quality to Walmart? The reason I got it from Walmart because of free delivery.

Well, silly me. How did I not know cows poop mulch? Apparently @Black Kow has them. Not worth the money. If you are looking for cow manure, this is not it! Just composted mulch for $6 a bag.

I didn’t know cows ate sticks and plastic. This is absolutely junk quality and wish I never bought it. All four bags are like this. If you want sticks, and a lot of them sucking up good nutrition from your plants, then this is the product for you.

If you're looking for a gardening product that has twice as much chlorine than N,P, or K, then this is the product for you. Wish I had read the label before purchasing. also, it is not OMRI listed organic, so the cow poop probably contains traces of toxic pesticides.
