Think outside the car.
I've worked on cars all my life (owned a body shop for a few years) and I sprayed Rust-Oleum rubberized undercoating, not only on cars, everywhere! My go-to for DIY paint protection.

Stuff was way better 14 years ago, whatever they did to it it doesn't cover in a tar like consistency like it used to. it's like goopy spray paint now. Maybe better off with bed liner .
