This is a decent coffee maker. It has a thermal carafe so there is no heated plate for the pot to sit on. After you brew a pot, the display counts down the pot's "freshness" and the blue power light stays on so some people may think the machine is still running. Pros: Thermal pot keeps coffee hot for hours Thermal pot has a wide opening, making it super easy to clean Thermal pot does NOT dribble when you pour Programmable (so it can be set up at night to brew for the next morning) Cons: The display is not backlit, making it a little difficult to read. The unit housing feels a little light weight. It takes approx. 10 minutes to brew a 7-cup pot

Don't buy the Chefman 14 cup coffee maker! If the carafe breaks, they don't sell replacements and there is no customer support. It's fancy and chic but I had to buy this to replace it after 2 months in an Airbnb. Love the B%26D line. Easy to use. Looks professional.

the coffee tastes wonderful worlds better than from the former Black Decker this new version with the new water feature creates a fuller aroma and it takes only half the time to brew a whole can also with the new can design no more leakage when filling a cup

I did price comparison before ordering the Black and Decker 12-cup coffee maker with vacuum sealed carafe. The carafe I ordered previously from Walmart was difficult to align the cap with the pouring spout. Needless to say the coffee poured out from the side. My request for a return/refund from Walmart was confirmed. The Black and Decker coffee maker is exactly what I wanted without having to order a separate carafe. I've only used it once because the carafe kept my first pot of coffee warm overnight. I warmed my morning cup for a few seconds in the microwave. The coffee tasted as fresh as day one. In essence, I got a two for one great deal.

Best coffee maker I've owned. The carafe is great at keeping the coffee warm and I don't have to worry about breaking it. I also like the idea of not having a warming plate that has always ended up looking horrible on other machines.

2nd time ordering the Black %26Decker Thermal, programmable coffee maker. We like that the coffee does not get overcooked while sitting. If people want to have a coffee later in the morning, it is typically still warm (may need a little time in the microwave) but does not have that “burnt” over cooked taste. Easy to clean.

This is a decent coffee pot.. it is my first thermal carafe pots and it has been an adjustment.. I absolutely recommend heating the carafe ahead of brewing, but this severely limits the option to program the coffee pot. That was an unexpected consideration when making the shift from the standard hot plate coffee brewers.. Also, because there isn't a heated plate, the coffee pot is top heavy because it's just a small plastic base for the carafe to rest on. Aaand, the internal components are certainly the same because the pot wants to stay powered on for a couple of hours after brewing - since there's no hot plate, there's no reason for it to stay powered on. I like the coffee brewer - and I like that my second cup of coffee doesn't get cooked in the pot on the hot plate, but... transitioning to the thermal carafe has taken longer than I expected.

Tall for under cabinet storage… have to move to front of counter for filling. Thermos pitcher is heavy before filling. Digital screen is hard to read and needs to be lit

It made a good cup of coffee. But I bought specifically when family/friends come for a larger quantity of coffee to serve. This looked great as a stainless steel pot would certainly provide for a group and stay hot! Unfortunately the description did not tell me that the coffee does not stay hot. In just 1/2 hour is luke warm. The plate that the pot sits on does not heat at all, so the pot itself is the only thing that keeps the coffee hot! The little booklet says to run hot water into the pot first to warm the inside of the pot. That's a real pain to go through all that AND it made no difference. The coffee turned barely warm within a 1/2 hour. The description and the video I watched before I bought it was very misleading.
