Coffee actually tastes better from this maker!! 1. pour water into the maker 2. run Hot water into your coffee carafe, let this preheat. 3. pour out water, put on lid and brew! The coffee is hotter than a regular maker. Coffee stays hotter longer than when the countdown timer stops. (Timer starts at 120 minutes and counts down) After timer stops, coffee is still hot. Press button on handle to pour coffee. You won't be sorry for buying this coffee maker!! Happy brewing.

We love the durability of this coffee pot! We have gone through about 10 in the past 6 years as the glass pot always breaks for some crazy reason. We drink coffee all day and at times multiple pots a day. Definitely wished we had this pot 5 years ago!

I love this coffee maker! This is my second one. I purchased it as a back up. I have had the same one for years now and it still works beautifully. It also has an automatic cleaner. It is handsome, very stylish, easy to use, does not have a bunch of buttons, and the thermal carafe is genius!

nice no more breaking glass carafes. coffee is nice and hot. didn't buy it to keep coffee hot long time but even the next morning there was residual warmth

The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that the clock is not easy to read. It should be a lite up in blue numbers making it easy to read in the dark .

Can't see how much coffee is left in the carafe. Stays on for 90 minutes after (apparent) completeion of brewing. No heating plate below carafe, but carafe is thermal and keeps coffee hot for hours. But, as noted, can't see how much coffee remains in carafe.

Only because it doesn't have a warming plate, I'm less than pleased with this for the price. It's my fault for not realizing it, but this was a first for me with a coffee pot! Even when I warm the carafe with HOT water prior, the coffee just doesn't stay hot. If you drink your pot of coffee quickly, you will probably be happy!

Our old thermal carafe coffee maker just died after 10 years. This was not the same make, as my old one was no longer available. Do Not buy if you think the carafe will keep coffee hot. I tried heating the carafe with boiling water and still only keeps warm for maybe 30 minutes. The coffee being brewed is also not as hot as old machine. Very disappointing!

We purchased this as we currently have a coffee pot with a thermal carafe and love it, but it has started leaking from the tank and cannot be repaired. After making coffee several mornings, trying different amounts of coffee, using the "strong" button, etc. , we returned this coffee maker for a refund. Never had a good cup of coffee and the carafe did not even keep the coffee hot enough for the second cup. Truly, the first cup barely stayed warm to finish it, so I don't think the coffee gets that hot to begin with. They do recommend preheating the carafe with warm water, but that really defeats the purpose of using a timer. It's a shame - had high hopes as it is a nicely designed machine, but we were disappointed.
