The drill did the job at a reasonable price. I am fond of Black and Decker and this tool is well made. Was a big help drilling holes for a porch handrail.
Exactly what I needed, priced competitively.
This is my review of the Black and Decker 6.5 AMP 1/2in Hammer Drill. Black and Decker previously has not been my choice for tools. But, that has changed over the recent years, as other brands have become very expensive. I purchased the cordless version of this drill, previously and had good results with it and it has held up well through all the household projects that I have used it. I also have the Black and Decker cordless Max Lithium-Ion Cordless 5-1/2 in. Circular Saw and truly like using this saw for small projects. My new Black and Decker 6.5 AMP 1/2in Hammer Drill can handle all the jobs that my cordless drill just doesn't have enough power to handle. While drilling into the backyard patio deck I needed the power of a Hammer Drill to get to the needed depth to sink screws to secure the posts to the concrete. I have another drill that I had to use water to keep the masonry bit cool while trying to drive in the bit. The Hammer Drill made quick work of going through the concrete to the correct depth, each time. So now I have a very good drill to add to my continuing line of Black and Decker tools that are not costing me a fortune and are holding up over time. Good job Black and Decker!
it was a Christmas present...Just what l wanted...can't wait to use it..
Why did I wait so long to get this. Years of trying to hammer small finishing nails and this thing did 20 “nails” in 60 seconds. Love it.
Recommend for occasional, short term use. 🙂
I was a little disappointed at first. But for the price it does the job. For my diy projects is awesome. It works on my concrete wall and ceiling just make sure is in the right setting and get the right concrete tip.
This is a great product...if you can use it. I could not, since I have no arm strength. I have been trying to put a hole through a concrete wall in my basement for weeks now. But first, this item comes without drill bits. I had to purchase them separately. I have been trying to review this for weeks, but I could not make a decent enough hole in the wall. In fact, I damaged my wall. I refused to take a picture of the mess, instead I will keep trying. I watched several youtube videos and learned how to hold it and drill, but I did not suceed. I know the potential of this product so I will try again. I just have to build my wall back. This is supposed to put neat holes in concrete and wood alike. Thank you Walmart smart reviewer for allowing me to try this item. Where are the droll bits?
This hammer drill is the worst Black and Decker tool I have ever seen. The chock would not stay tight causing the drill bit to wobble around and not make a clean round hole. The drill bit actually spun out of the chuck as I was reducing speed to pull the bit out of the hole I was trying to drill. The auxiliary handle would not stay tight either.
Handle broken on installation
