I feel very handy for in the house. My hubby has one that I could use, but I wanted one for myself inside the house. So far I have installed a much needed towel rack for the bathroom and the power tool did exactly what I needed it to do. I like Black + Decker!!!
This is a very handy saw. Because of its size and weight it's very easy to manage even when cutting stuff overhead or on a ladder. High speed, and with a premium carbide tipped blade it cuts branches and roots very well. It struggles when trying to cut 4" roots buried in clay, but I use a 6 AMP corded reicprocating saw for those situations. Like most Recips, this one does vibrate but not any more than other saws in its class. I usually just use a 2ah battery, again, for ease of use and light weight.
This is my fifth tool in the B%26D battery operated tools snd I love the convenience snd control I have when using them.
I just got this and only used it once. so far so good. I would have put 5 stars but don't really know things like how long battery last because I just got it.
3 blades and two battery pack changes was all it took to saw up my old hot tub!
Black and Decker 20V Max Lithium Cordless Drill is a joy to use around the house. It made short work of an unassembled queen bed foundation the day after it was received. The tool is compact and lightweight which is exactly what I need in a drill. The shorter barrel makes it fit in cramped spaces nicely. The orange housing is a plus since it makes it ever so easy to quickly spot it when it is stored or you have clutter in the work area. Likely that housing will break if the drill is dropped from ladder height or whatever but any of them will no matter how much you pay for it. It has plenty of power with its 20 volt lithium ion battery and even after installing 30 screws it is still going strong. Although this drill was working when I first got it, likely it didn't have a full charge. I was anxious to get It fully charged but unfortunately didn't note how long it took. The 11 torque settings on the clutch are adequate for drilling and screwing tasks. The light on the foot is aimed up and although it is not real bright, it is much appreciated.
Black and Decker 20v lithium Drill/Driver is a great tool. Don't let It's smaller compact design fool You. There's plenty of power and torque to do big jobs around the House. Ive, owned Black and Decker Tools for nearly 35 yrs and The price is cheaper than most. But, the quality is as Good or better than the higher priced competitors! The lithium battery holds charge longer, is lighter, And The charger itself is not bulky. I put it in a small tool bag to keep up with it and other accessories, that I need to work with. (Walmart sells A package that includes the bag, and a selection of driver bits that Will serve most of Your needs) The color is bright orange and black, typical and easily Recognizable for Black and Decker Products, but this makes it easier for Me to keep up with. The keyless chuck holds well for awhile. But, like most Drills, high demands will cause it to loosen up on Your Bits and You will need to retighten. It comes with one dual bit, a Phillips and straight Screwdriver, so, You will need to purchase another package of bits, later. Overall, It's a nice, durable drill/driver that can handle being accidentally dropped from the ladder a few times.
I recently opted to try the Black and Decker 20v, cordless, drill/driver. I received this product free as part of the Walmart Sparkreviewer program. I asked my husband for some input for this review as he has more experience than I do with power tools. The drill comes packaged with a charging unit and an instruction manual and one dual headed drill bit that can be clipped to the drill for easy storage. The first thing that I noticed about the drill, besides the fact that it is sharp looking, was its weight. It is very light and easy to hold. We have a cordless drill at home, but it is bigger and heavier. As a woman I find the Black and Decker drill much easier to handle. The shaft of the handle is shorter than our other drill and it doesn't feel so top heavy. I had my husband hold it as well and it fit his hand nicely, as well. There are finger grips on the shaft that make hand placement comfortable. We were thinking that because of its small size that it would not be powerful, but we were pleasantly surprised. The thing that we liked the best was that the drill has a light on it that shines where you would be placing the drill bit. While there is a light on our current drill it doesn't come on until you start to drill but the Black and Decker light comes on when you push the trigger half way, so you can see where you are putting the drill bit. We both found this to be a great feature. The drill comes with a 20v lithium ion battery that is rechargeable. The battery was easy to remove from the drill and attach to the charging unit and there is a light on the charger that lets you know that it is charging. We charged the battery overnight before trying. Like most drills these days this unit has torque control, which allows for you to adjust the force of the dill. I found it easy to adjust the chuck (my husband's word) to insert and release a drill bit. This is something that I have had trouble with in the past and as a result and at the suggestion of my husband, I put on a glove during this process because it can hurt if you are not careful and also because if you've ever had to remove a screw that was incorrectly inserted (and I have, lol) they sure can get hot! Both my husband and I tested the drill using different sized screws by driving them into some left over 2x4's and 4x4's. We were both surprised by how powerful this drill was. We also tested the torque control and found that it worked as it should. If we were doing a home project together this would be the drill that I would go for and depending upon the project, we might even fight over it, lol. As for battery life, we tested the drill on and off for about ½ an hour and it was still going strong, however, we were only drilling in small to medium sized screws (nothing big), which might make a difference. The only downside is that this drill only comes with one battery, so it might be proactive to purchase a back-up battery. All and all I found this drill to work very well and would recommend it to others.
The blade is a bit short so I bought longer 15” tree cutting blades. It accommodated the new blade beautifully. My only issue was the short time on the battery.
The Black and Decker 20V Max Lithium Cordless Drill is a handy drill. It charged in under 4 hours for a first time charge using a 20-volt lithium ion battery. Nominal voltage is 18. This drill has good balance and is not too heavy. It has an LED light to light up the work area, which is a nice feature. This Black and Decker drill has a convenient bit tip storage area just below the grip where the bit snaps securely on to the base. The grip is nice because it is not too large in diameter for smaller hands and the rubbery material seems very slip resistant. This drill has a keyless chuck and a variable speed trigger switch. The more you press the trigger, the higher the speed. The location of the forward/reverse control button is close to the handle and easy to reach while holding the handle without losing your grip. This forward/reverse control button also is a lock button when in the center position and locks the tool in the off position. Black and Decker offers a 30-day money back guarantee as well as a two year limited warranty on this drill. The only negative thing about this tool is the lack of a level bubble, I find that very helpful. Even so, this is a good solid drill.
