I used this to find studs to hang some drapes. I wasn't real confident that I was locating studs when using it. When drilling, the places where I thought the tool indicated a stud were accurate. With some more experience with this I may grow to really like it. Needless to say, all use of tools etc is new to me-I am a new homeowner. The tool did its job. I gave a 3 for meeting expectations as I thought it would tell me right where a stud was with no doubts. It does take some practice to interpret it correctly.

This product performs the function that it is designed to do. I hate that you have to hold the power button in order to use it. In essence you have to hold the power button in while sliding the device to locate the stud. However, for the cheap price, it's tolerable.

I bought this stud finder over Walmart website, it was good price to buy, but once I got it n started to use it, the stud finder was kept beeping, sometime the red light kept on n on, couldn't shut off, so I gave it try n drilled the wall, man I was so disappointed, I had to drilled couple more to find the stud, so if you want this one, then you have well prepared to have couple holes in your wall. This was my experience, good luck.

I BOUGHT THIS ONLINE FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING A TV WALL MOUNT. IT LIT/BEEPED WHEN NO STUD WAS THERE AND SOMETIMES LIT/BEEPED WHEN A STUD WAS PRESENT. I PUT A LOT OF UNNECESSARY HOLES IN THE WALL. BLACK & DECKER IS A GOOD PRODUCT BUT A RARE MISS ON THIS ONE. WALMART CHEERFULLY GAVE ME A REFUND.

Provided batteries leaked after a short time. Did not have the receipt nor box. B&D refused any kind of restitution. Consider this a one-and-done product. A throw-away after the initial use.

I think this thing has caused more damage than it's job to find studs. 👎🏼 I have drilled more holes in to drywall then the studs it finds. I have spent more money on patch work than what this junk cost me. DO NOT BUY

This stud finder is a joke and I wish I looked at other people s reveiw before I wasted my money.too many false readings.it couldn't find a stud that was right in front of its face. I would have better luck knocking on the walls to find one.
