Simple degree wise and straight line wise, what else can you ask of this simple tool? It serves a purpose and its purpose is fullfilled

#HammerTimeSweepstakes Stanley Hand Tools 46-071 Premium Quick Square Layout Tool is a necessity for any DIY person's toolbox. It's durable, precise and gives professional results. I have used this often and it is my go-to tool when working with wood to measure & create precise angles and lines. I wouldn't start a project without this! It fits nicely in the bottom of my toolbox without taking up much space. Recommended to family and friends.

The layout triangle is sturdy and easy enough to read but seems expensive compared to other much more complex tools although this was in fact the cheapest layout triangle I could find.

I grew up doing carpentry with my grandfather and squares are indispensable. However, a speed square has so much functionality BUT this is not a speed square. If you are doing framing, get a square with more features. This has many features but the Swanson can do so much more. This does not even have the widths of the lumber on the inside or the scribe marks. Good tool but disappointing when you learn how to really use this. It is a level 2 on a 5 level scale. One step above a basic square since it adds the protractor information.
