First time Griddle owner. This is so versatile, puts a whole different meaning to outdoor cooking. Build quality is excellent, heavy construction top, overall weight is 90 lbs so you might want your wife to pick this one up, save your back for cooking. This one came with the metal cover for the cook top and nice heavy Griddle cover, we love it.
My wife bought me griddle for Fathers Day and couldn't be happier. We always grilled on a Weber and while it's great I've wanted the ability to make breakfast outside on the weekends and it's perfect. We also have done everything g from filets to fried rice and all turn out great.
I cooked on a Blackstone during an Airbnb stay. I was sold because it was actually fun to cook on…I felt like a hibachi chef, ha! I ordered my Blackstone as soon as I got home. I just assembled it and it was easy peasy….great instructions and everything fit together perfectly. I’m a 67 year old woman who is 5’1” tall and soaking wet I’m 100lbs…I had no problem handling the assembly. Looking forward to firing this grill up and making some great smash burgers or stir fry!
Assembly was straight forward. Quality components, frame and hardware. The only improvement that could be made with assembly is with the shelves. The top screws that are backed out slightly to hang the shelf and then again tightened have little clearance for a screwdriver and hand. Very solid connection, just a bit cumbersome compared to the rest of the assembly.
On the setup: It was a challenge to get the bolts to attach the shelf and have that in place. Partly because the holes didn’t align perfectly. Was afraid of stripping the bolts because we had to push significantly for them to start to go in and tighten. Product build: Overall, the Blackstone feels solid and I’m happy with the build. There’s something I’m disappointed in though. Either the frame isn’t square or the griddle top isn’t, because it wobbles significantly even though it’s “locked” in place. A fix I’ll probably implement is getting some washers to add to one of the feet in order to stop it from wobbling. On cooking: No complaints here! There’s a learning curve for sure, but we’ve made tasty meals on it so far.
Putting together the griddle was straightforward and the instructions were clear. I made a slight error and did not thoroughly check which model I was buying and thought I was getting the same as the in-store model, so I was a little disappointed that the griddle top was a hardcover and not one that lifts up. The griddle seems sturdy and works well. I am in the seasoning process right now. One complaint I have is that the griddle wobbles slightly because three out of the four contact points touch the base of the griddle. Overall though, I am pleased and hope to use the griddle for years to come.
Everything is good but I wish there was leveling legs especially considering a level griddle is necessary. My patio was designed with a sloping grade for rain drainage. I'm using caster chocks to raise up the left side that has the wheels. The photo attached is right after I assembled it. Once I leveled it I have been watching YouTube videos to learn how to make different things.
This review is based solely on (1) assembly and (2) product registration. Assembly was straightforward but was downgraded due to attachment of the shelves is cumbersome due to the tight location of the screws with limited tool space. Registration was easy using the QR code but downgraded this too since a rating is asked before I even get a chance to use the griddle.
The grill surface is great. Seasoned easily. I have enjoyed grilling on it. There are a few issues. The ignitor is not working consistently, and many times, not at all. Have to use a lighter or match. The grill surface is warping so the oil runs to the front and the back when poured in the middle, but it's workable. Otherwise, really cool! Love how many different things I can grill on it!
I have owned the grill for approximately one month. The cook top is a great size and meals are cooked quickly. However, the build quality is ok at best. The cooktop was warped and I had to use washers to level it. The legs are very wobbly and I guess are meant to fold in but I can’t understand why. Also the igniter does a poor job and I have burned more eyebrow and eyelash hair than I ever had.
