First time Griddle owner. This is so versatile, puts a whole different meaning to outdoor cooking. Build quality is excellent, heavy construction top, overall weight is 90 lbs so you might want your wife to pick this one up, save your back for cooking. This one came with the metal cover for the cook top and nice heavy Griddle cover, we love it.
I've been wanting one for years. My wife bought it for me as a surprise. She couldn't pass up the bundle price and I'm sure glad she did. I've had my BS for 2 weeks and have used it almost every other day. Griddle cooking is definitely the way to go. Easy clean up too.
I will never go back to a standard grill! The griddle is so easy to clean and you can grill everything all at once! All the accessories including the steam cover and pancake maker are amazing! From making breakfast to dinner, the cleanup makes it that much easier to enjoy and have fun with the family!
Just registering now. We are almost done with the assembly ( wife assembling because she's the smart one!)& haven't used it yet or seasoned the flat top BUT my Blackstone friends say this model is perfect for them and us. I'm not looking to entertain the entire neighborhood :) as Blackstone has larger, more sophisticated models. This will work well for close family & a few friends?
I absolutely LOVE this Blackstone! I live in an apartment, and it's been the perfect way to enjoy grilling without needing a full backyard setup. It heats up quickly, cooks everything evenly, and makes cooking for family and friends so much easier. I've made everything from burgers and breakfast to stir-fry and fajitas, and it all turns out amazing. Cleanup is surprisingly simple, and the large cooking surface is a game changer. If you're on the fence about buying one, just do it—you won't regret it. Easily one of the best purchases I've ever made!
Great grill overall. One design improvement I’d suggest is with the legs and wheels. The wheel brackets extend beyond the frame (likely for stability), but that makes it so the legs can’t fold in compactly unless you remove the wheels. If the wheel-side legs were positioned slightly higher or designed differently, the grill could potentially fold up much more compact for transport. Not a dealbreaker at all, just seems like a small design tweak that could add a lot of convenience.
On the setup: It was a challenge to get the bolts to attach the shelf and have that in place. Partly because the holes didn’t align perfectly. Was afraid of stripping the bolts because we had to push significantly for them to start to go in and tighten. Product build: Overall, the Blackstone feels solid and I’m happy with the build. There’s something I’m disappointed in though. Either the frame isn’t square or the griddle top isn’t, because it wobbles significantly even though it’s “locked” in place. A fix I’ll probably implement is getting some washers to add to one of the feet in order to stop it from wobbling. On cooking: No complaints here! There’s a learning curve for sure, but we’ve made tasty meals on it so far.
Everything is good but I wish there was leveling legs especially considering a level griddle is necessary. My patio was designed with a sloping grade for rain drainage. I'm using caster chocks to raise up the left side that has the wheels. The photo attached is right after I assembled it. Once I leveled it I have been watching YouTube videos to learn how to make different things.
Igniter lit the griddle the first time and the first time only. After investigation ther are two igniters and one doesn't work at all and the other one sparks but fails to lite. I have been having to lite it by hand but not too upset because this thing is awesome. I just hope I can get this problem resolved.
The main drawbacks that I'm seeing are there are low spots on the griddle, so putting oil down is almost useless as the oil immediately runs and pools in the low spot. The other drawback is the griddle cools off really quick when you put food on it. It sizzles right away but you lose that really quick. The 36" may not have these problems, but I'm disappointed with this model. I was expecting more as I have heard so many good things about Blackstone.
