My sister bought a couple of these pans and I was at her place helping fix dinner for my Mom when she began cutting into a steak while it was STILL in the pan! I kinda freaked out until she told me that with these, you CAN!! I said I gotta get a couple of those! They happened to have a few dollars off for Christmas so I bit the bullet!
The pan is much lighter than the Anolon pans I purchased that were expensive. After 15 yrs. the Anolon coating wore off causing everything to stick and after reading about them understand they have PFE's, etc. I can cook whatever I want in this pan on Medium to low with exceptional results. I am so surprised of how well they cook with a little avocado oil on much lower heat and no sticking. I sure hope they last a long time!
Bought as a second, my backup. Still using the first one. 2 years and only one little spot scratched. Does need to cared for and cleaned with thought to what youre doing. Most important thing is I handwash mine everytime and will have to make sure its totaly clean. Otherwise it will get some residue left behind and next time you use the food will stick in that spot. Love mine, usually wipe out with paper towel than rinse and wipe with soapy cloth. Hey whats it worth not to have to scrub? I love skipping that step.
I purchased this pan as a gift for my sister because; I bought a set for me and have been using it for over a year and it’s still in excellent condition. I love this brand and highly recommend it. I read a review where the person mentioned they were scratched in less than three months, so I guess they abused them because mine are still in excellent condition.
If you never put this or any other blue diamond pan on heat higher than medium and never burn anything in this pan it will last you for at least 20 years. I own several blue diamond that I have had for 20 years so far. However I never use metal or even wood utensils on them I use a coated or silicone turner or spatula at all times. I also wash the pans by hand always. I have cooked crustless pizza, toasted sandwiches, several meats such as chicken, brisket, etc with this pan. Would highly recommend to anyone who knows how to properly take care of cookware.
I guess it's alright for a cheap pan. Even though it's pretty. I love the color but that soon changes after heating up a few times. Since I got it, I have not been able to make a fried egg, a cheese omelet nor a grilled cheese that didn't stick. That is all I have cooked in it is mainly eggs and grilled cheese. The bottom of the pan is already totally black, and I've only had it a couple of weeks. The metal handle gets seriously hot and if you accidently touch it with bare hands while cooking you will get burned. I put a drizzle of olive oil in my pan and then crack my egg. I stand there and flip it with a silicon spatula. Every egg I have cooked in this pan has STUCK and had to be scraped out. So.. I would not recommend it.
Must be I got a dud because EVERYTHING sticks in this pan and almost immediately, there was a scratch and I'm typically very careful with my pans. Needed for a move to a new house before our good stuff was unpacked and I just should have waited. I've already tossed it!
When i cooked in this pan it smelled horrible. I started coughing and had to open our back door to air out the kitchen. They say there are no chemicals but that is not true. I returned it.
I purchased 2 of these pans. Theybwere great at first, but after daily use, they lose their non-stick feature. I handled these pans with extra TLC. Handwash, low heat, and mostly cooking eggs, hotdogs, fish and didn't use for heavy duty cooking. I have contacted Blue Diamonds's customer service for warranty twice, but didn't get any response. Walmart's customer service wouldn't fulfill the warranty but directed me to BD's. Buy at your own risk.
It says non stick and whatever I cook gets stuck to the pan. It is getting impossible to use the pan. I just bought it and haven't managed to get even one item without sticking to the oan
