I have used the same type of above ground swimming pool skimmer for years they work great comes with a new hose and also a new wall fitting, which is a major plus with the sun, and chlorine disintegration. Good price very fast shipping. I would say highly recommend they last for years.
I've been using the Bluescape Pool Surface Skimmer and it's made a noticeable difference in keeping my pool clean with less effort. What I like most is how it hooks right onto the side of the pool and connects to the filter pump. Once it's set up, it automatically pulls in leaves, bugs, and other debris before they sink to the bottom. It really cuts down on how often I have to manually clean the pool and helps keep the water looking clear. It's designed to work with standard filter pumps and starts skimming as the pump runs, which makes it super convenient. Another plus is how easy it is to empty and reuse. When the basket fills up, you just dump it out and pop it back in—no hassle. It's also made of durable plastic that holds up well and is easy to rinse clean. The only downside is that it may not fit every type of pool, especially steel wall or in-ground pools, and you do need a compatible pump for it to work properly. Setup can take a little adjusting at first to get the best position, but once it's dialed in, it works great.
Easy to install and works well. Good quality construction but not heavy. Would recommend to someone looking for a skimmer for their above ground pool who doesn't want to have to change their current setup
couldn't figure out how to attach it to the drain outlet on the pool but finally got it! you have to take a tiny screw out of your drain outlet plug on the pool and attach the skimmer hose attachment there! it immediately started sucking bugs/leaves to the skimmer
this didn't fit my Coleman pool exactly right, it kind of wants to float up and doesnt feel sturdily attached, I'm sure the kids will knock in it off. I don't like that it has metal house clamps, I didn't use them because when the kids inevitably knock it off the side of the pool, I doing want them to cut the liner. it does seem to work well enough when it's positioned properly.
It is a bit long when the pool is completely full, so the inside floats, which causes the leaves to go into the bottom instead of in the basket, which plugs the inflow. Worked so well the first day and cleaned the leaves off of the top of the water. now i cant get the suction back to where it works properly, which is odd and a bit frustrating. It does pick things up, just not like it did upon initial use.
Does the job OK for the price but the o ring on top that holds the summer in does not secure tightly and comes off frequently. Also the entire skimmer wants to float up so I had to zip tie it down to stay in the water
Doesn't work. Center piece just floats up. Suction from pump isn't strong enough. Don't waste your money
Really bad deal at the bottom so doesn't pull suction through well. Doesn't pull debris at all, find a different one.
my rating is low because it just didn't work for me. Maybe its just better for a blowup pool. It definitely does not work for a steel pool. The suction is very low. I could see the debris floating right past the opening.
