i am trying to grow vegetables in the house. i had nothing to start with. i purchased wire shelving from walmart and then set up dish pans with potting soil and then seedlings in them. i hung these 3' foot grow lights over the seedings (5,000k daylight 660nm red, indoor plant lighting (2-pack). i used only 1 fixture per shelf and i used 2 shelves. i also had experiences using clamp lights with grow light bulbs, fluorescent ceiling lights, and a tri-colored clamp grow light. i treated all the seedlings the same except for different lightings on the 17 gallon buckets i had tomato seedlings in. the best RESULTS ive had is with these BOOSTGRO 3ft led grow light, full spectrum, linkable, 5,000k daylight 660nm red, indoor plant lighting fixture (2-pack). im going to be purchasing another set because i had excellent results. tips: as the seedlings begin to grow much taller, i transplant them to a 5 gallon DIY self-wicking bucket, using potting soil. next, i lower the wire shelving underneath the buckets and i raise the above shelving to 30"-36" inches above the buckets, stick a few bamboo sticks in the bucket for the seedlings to hang to, hang BOTH GROW LIGHT FIXTURES underneath the upper shelf using s' hooks (which i also purchased from walmart, 50-100 pieces for average 10.00, and hooked them on the wire shelving. i placed the entire 2-pack together under that 1 shelf. now the plants are trying to stretch to reach for the lighting. awesome. there is room on the shelving to raise another 2 feet high. by then, the plants will be latching onto everything in their feeler sight. fixture comes with all the hanging hardware. i also linked the fixtures together so i only need to use 1 cord in the electric receptacle. worth every penny for this fixture !!!
