My husband has very thick coarse facial hair and suffers with pain in hands trying to shave. I purchased this for him in hopes of helping with the pain. He had zero confidence since his hair is so thick and coarse. This has worked beyond his expectations! It's amazing. He even came to tears after being able to shave with such ease and no hand pain. This worked wonderfully!!
This was just what my husband needed! Shaving with a razor cased bumps and sore skin...but this has been incredible for him. He has been using ut 3 times a week for 2 weeks now...no bumps and no tenderness. Is it expensive? Yes...but, you get what you pay for.
It gives the smoothness of nair or a actual razor but without all the irritation or scent... I'll forever use this razor and I'm gonna be a sad kitten when it breaks... also the wash station is so super cool and it smells citrusie and yummy after
I'm mostly concerned about the shave closeness. The model I bought has a battery travel case and I charge the shaver when not in use. My last Braun was purchased in 2015. 10 years ago. It still worked like a champ. I just thought it was time to see what the new tech offered. I was very pleasantly surprised. The new shaver on its worst day shaves on the best day of the 2015 Braun. It's quieter running, and a closer overall shave all over the face. As others have said, the instructions STINK. Back in 2015 they were decent. There are tricks on how to move the shave foil for a consistent close skin shave. Overall, once you accept the PRICE (which is steep), this is worth every penny. I've written this review 6 weeks since beginning use. I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I delayed to make sure the equipment didn't fail or the shave started to get worse, which it hasn't. I do recommend cleaning after almost every use. The clean function is MUCH QUIETER than the 2015 cleaning machine operation. It wipes face oils from the foil and removes the hair inside the foil machinery. If you don't clean, the fluid evaporates anyway, so might as well use it.
This is review is based upon my first month of use with the new Series 9 and switching from the Series 7 shaver. I am very happy with the quality of the shave. I get a smoother shave as well as quicker when compared to the Series 7 shaver. The shaver head is of good quality and a bit easer to clean with a brush. I have not use the charging case, but will have a trip in February to try it out. One improvement I recommend is that the power button be made more difficult to push in or moved. I have on occasion turned off by simply moving my hand as I shave. I look forward to seeing how long the shaver head will last with a consistent quality shave.
I have always used a rotary electric shaver, but after using the Braum electric foil shaver. The shave is so much better.
I've got very sensitive neck hairs that grow in a weird pattern. Got sick and tired of getting poor results with wet shaving so I decided to go all out on an electric razor. Picked the over the pro because it seemed to be a better deal considering the bundled items. After a few days my skin adjusted to electric shaving and get a consistent close shave without irritation. Worth the money.
The razor may be excellent but I can't tell because no manual came with it and the only manual I have been able to find online contains (other than the safety warnings which come in many different languages and alphabets) no text, just cartoon images with strange symbols and arrows that I cannot decipher. So far, I have been unable to figure out how to operate many of the features that the pictures hint at.
The razor gives a great shave, but it has one serious flaw. The power button is very delicate, it fell off in under a month. Two tiny tabs that stick out broke. After researching online I found it is a VERY common problem. I was going to request a replacement from Walmart, but refund was the only option, the price has skyrocketed, so it would cost over $100 more to buy a replacement. I contacted Braun directly, I just wanted a replacement button, but they don't do that, they need the razor back to verify it was not dropped. It didn't drop, there's no signs it was dropped, nor would dropping cause this problem, it is a clear defect. It would be a major hassle for me to go through the process to send it back, plus my husband needs the razor, his 15 year old Norelco finally died.
I bought this shaver to help care for my father, who has Lewy Body Dementia, hoping it would make shaving easier and more comfortable for him. Unfortunately, it's been nothing but a disappointment. The shaver barely cuts any hair, even after multiple passes. It's frustrating and ineffective. Definitely not what I expected from a high-end Braun Series 9 Pro. To make matters worse, I found out I can't even return it to the store. A complete waste of money.
