The construction was 20 gauge steel for the tube, solid steel ball for the leg and pivoting foot to turn on and a substantial rubber-like foot with a high coefficient of friction for floor location. It seems to be an excellent quality item with apparently very strong construction. It should do the job and last a long time.
It works. It's easy to use, just adjust it for the hight of your door knob, and use your foot to tap it into place. When you are ready to leave, use your foot, and tap it from behind, it slides out easily. While it was in place, I tried to open the door, it didn't budge. Since we started using this, the neighbors haven't broken into our house once, big improvement, they used to be in here a few times a week while we were sleeping. Now we just don't leave home at the same time, and it's a good neighborhood otherwise. This works, I highly recommend it, and it's simple to use. We've only had it about a month, and so far, so good. No more waking up to the front door being open, and things missing.
Stout, extremely easy to use. I use it to more tightly shut the exterior doors to keep out drafts - works great for that!
works for what I needed it for and it being brinks brand it seems stronger than others I've tried.
Well made and easy to use.
i satisfied with the price, and quality of the product, it works.
Well made and easy to use.
This was used exactly twice and already snapped like a twig inside. It doesn't matter if the bar is strong if the other vital pieces are cheap plastic. Very disappointed given the Brinks name.
The thin plastic piece on top of the device snapped where the pin secures it in place when it fell and hit the floor; because, of course, it's going to fall and hit the floor often due to its shape and function. So, maybe don't use cheap, brittle plastic on thinly-produced parts that are coupled to hard metal parts and will be taking a beating. I expected better research and design from Brinks.
Will not grip securely on a tile floor .
