I live in an area with a lot of water pollution. I had a Culligan water cooler, and because I have a bad back that keeps me partially wheelchair bound, I could not lift the 50 lb water jugs it required. So I purchased the Brita water pitcher. The water is every bit as filtered and tasty as was the Culligan system for a fraction of the price. I got the 10 glass pitcher and it is a little big, but I don't have to be always filling it, and it does fit well in my refrigerator. It would be the perfect size for a family. You can depend on clean, clear, good tasting water with a Brita system. The story of the water condition in my community is too long to tell here, but believe me, this pitcher is getting rid of some NASTY stuff!
Just the right size and fits in refrigerator with out using a lot of space. Filtered water taste better than bottled water. Does not take long to filter.
I used to have a smaller Brita that fit on the door of my fridge. I bought this knowing it would be bigger, but I thought it was still the same oblong pitcher. The "body" of the pitcher is actually circular. I had to rearrange my fridge shelves (move them up) to get the pitcher to fit anywhere because it wouldn't fit on the door. However, I am very happy with it.
I love this, I went from drinking 6-8 500 mls. and Thanks to my Son that came home, he said u need a Brita, So after finding out from him about the pitcher!! I'm thinking.....WHY? Have I never done this? So I ordered my 10 Cup Pitcher and a refill filter that will last 6 months. So between the Jug and the 2 filters cause one that lasts for 2 months comes with it. This should last well into 2022! So I definitely would recommend it. Thanks Brita for making this. I am a reformed Women, Before this, I would Never have drank any water except bottled.
Works well, have used for 2 wks now. Saved $10,00 on bottled water already. It will pay for itself in a month. Large capacity, easy to use. It is a handle w/care plastic. But pretty, I got the blue one. we use it daily to make ice tea and lemonade, then have plain water for making coffee or tea, or just good tasting drinking water. Feel much safer drinking this that county tap water! I highly recommend, just hope I don't drop it, it would probably crack.
This one I bought for my mother because I like the one I bought for myself so much!
Works beautifully. It filters the tap water perfectly. The tap water tastes so much more refreshing once it is filtered.
I purchased the green pitcher to match my current kitchen color. Its a beautiful green the company has chosen. I can warn you not to fill the pitcher more then half way or the lid pops off from the water pressure leaving your counters wet and your cup dripping from the side. an adult needs to pour from it.... I have a 14 yr old and she finds the top annoying but loves the water.
This product is disappointing. It filters ok..but, the lid keeps falling off when you pour. Even the triangle lip falls off and won't stay on. I highly doubt that the gauge on the lid will give an accurate reading on when to replace the new filter.
I'm a long-time Brita user, can't live without one. But this most recent one is a huge disappointment. As many other reviewers have said, the little flap over the spout broke within a couple of days. It might have already come broken, not sure, it seemed loose at first, until it eventually wouldn't attach at all. I was nearly ready to return it for that, but decided to keep it. Then the dealbreaker--the whole red assembly part sometimes slides right out of the pitcher when you pour. And there's not even a convenient way to put a thumb over it to hold it down while pouring because that's the spot where it actually slips out. So you have to hold your other hand over the lid meaning you can't hold the bottom, so you can't fill it all the way or it's too heavy. Having a glass of water shouldn't require such choreography. I gave it two stars only because the flap over the refill reservoir is a nice improvement over the last model. But I'm sorry Brita, this one needs to go back to the drawing board.
