Brother Monochrome Laser Multifunction Copier and Printer, DCP-L5500DN

Amazing machine! It works like a breeze. Only negative is that it can only be connected to internet through Ethernet. That was a let down but it was more of my issue for not paying attention to that critical detail.

Great copier/ scaner / printer. Easy set up. Only improvement would be to have it hold a whole pack of copy paper 500 sheets

We've come to really like the Bother product line the past year or so, and are slowly replacing devices as they are retired with Brother products. This unit takes same toner as some of or other units, making it easy to stock spares. Had a page crinkling issue on this unit after around 1000 pages, and after flashing firmware - Brother support worked with me and sent me a replacement unit under warranty with minimal hassle. Put old unit in box, slapped on included ARS label, done! We will continue to purchase Brother products in the future (in fact, just purchased a color laser for one of our other sites, replacing an old other-brand inkjet).

Got the 5500 to replace an old printer in shipping dept. I was a little concerned as shipping areas can be dusty but the machine is running very well as a scanner, copier and printer. The unit has been in place for over a year with very little problems. We are confident enough now in the Brother product that we will be ordering another 5500 to install in our receiving area.

Hard to get technical support on the Wifi issue. Hopefully there is a good solution or replacement product.

The duplexing option is not automatic. You have to scan both side of the paper for it to print a 2-sided copy. Not bluetooth compatible so you have to hard wire it via ethernet.

So far we without a printer for over 2 weeks.. Terrible service.

No wifi difficultly setting up...i am returning the product

I usually love brother products, however this is disappointing. It is reliable and works well except it lacks features you would assume it would have. With the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) you would think that since it has the ability to print two sided, it would also be able to copy and scan two sided. WRONG. This is the first ever printer/scanner that I have used that had an ADF that was not able to also scan and copy two sided. It is very disappointing. Scanning from the glass is fine for a page or two, but not when you have 10 pages to do.
