Cambridge Silversmiths Swirl Sand 89-Piece Flatware Set with 5-Piece Hostess Set

This is a great assortment of dinnerware for the kitchen and home. We like the shapes and numbers for eating. This flatware is smaller and lighter than our previous flatware. It holds up to both cooking and eating demands. With the smaller spoons and forks, taking smaller bites helps to lower caloric intake. The bigger utility spoons have short handles which are not good for cooking. Keep some of the older and longer handled spoons for stirring soups, beans, and general stovetop cooking.

We bought this set almost ten years ago, when my spouse and I bought our house together. We love it: it's our everyday set, and even after daily use for almost a decade, looks terrific. The design is simple and modern, and quite pleasing aesthetically. The only downside is that a house cleaner, long since dismissed, apparently liked it, too. It seems she pocketed six teaspoons, evidently the one she used for her coffee each week! (We only discovered the loss later.)

This set is actually nicer than expected !

I originally purchased a 20-piece set 18 years ago, but when I tried to add to it, I couldn't find the pattern anymore, until three years ago. I was delighted to find a SUBSTANTIAL set to complete my set with lots to spare. The pattern goes perfectly in a formal OR informal setting!

Lighter weight than I was hoping, but that's the risk you take ordering online. Not terrible, and I guess I should have expected as much for the price, but I believed the reviews that said it was a sturdy set. We will see how long they last before they're all bent up. Also, the frosted section does feel weird, like paper texture, not my most favorite feeling. Guess we will know next time. Maybe one of the kids will end up with these next year and I'll get another new set...
