i was so happy to recieve this during a snow storm. i had a split in my water heater and i needed this to prevent further damage to my rv.

RV HOT WATER BY-PASS
I would give 5 stars if the T fitting was metal, not plastic. Installation was easy but it was difficult to judge how much to tighten the lines going to the plastic T. If you tighten too much the plastic will crack and if you don't tighten enough it leaks. I decided to tighten but not excessively then run water through the lines and re tighten until the leaks stopped. I suggest you do the same to avoid damage. I would gladly pay more for a kit with all metal fittings. If I had it to do all over again I would purchase a T made of metal and toss the plastic one from the kit in the trash. Bottom line is the kit works and installation is moderately easy. Make sure you use a crescent wrench to tighten everything. Don't try to use pliers, adjustable wrench, vise grips or channel locks to tighten the fittings.

These won't work with PEX tubing found in the newer campers.

Bad check valve
Check valve is leaking through after a couple of years and I had to replace with a ball valve! So much for the convenience of a quick winterization.
