CAP Standard 14" Threaded Dumbbell Handle set, Black

These dumbbell handles from CAP are such an improvement to my home gym. I primarily wanted these for the threaded collars. The dumbbell handles I own have the old style collar with a screw-clamp. It always made me nervous lifting them over my head to work triceps. They would come loose too easily. The build quality of these CAP dumbbells is top notch!!! These are steel tube handles with some sort of coating / covering making them smooth. No sharp metal burrs or shards! The center handle has a very comfortable and secure rubber grip. The threaded collars are plastic. I had no difficulty getting the collars on or off and they stay snug during use. This dumbbell set works with the standard 1" weight plates I have already. I would absolutely recommend these!!!

I bought this to put in my weight lifting travel chest. It's light and easy to fit and makes no clanging metal noise. The hard synthetic star locks hold better than metal ones too. I packed it in with an aluminum barbell and plenty of old chrome weights I have so I can do 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 in barbells while on a road trip. These would be great for someone wanting to do barbell exercise in the house too.

Weight is about a lb each. Collars %26 handle ends are hard plastic. Size is 14” %26 color is all black. What I was looking for to match existing dumbbell handles. Had the threads been chrome, they would have been an exact match. Collars need to be checkd for secureness before use. Easily will loosen slightly with use.

The product is great but it was slightly damaged around one of the grips when it was delivered. It was still in working condition. That damage wasn't too bad but it was noticeable. The packaging was seriously torn also.

So I thought they were steel barbell components they are in fact phenolic and it is for that reason I have a 4 star I worry it might brake and injury could result other then that it was a very good no great deal

would not recommend for heavy weights, this is mostly plastic. don't trust throwing 50 pounds over my head with a plastic handle and wingnut holding everything. i returned them.

Didn't realize these were hollow handles when I first ordered them. Once they arrived and I noticed the box was super light I had my doubts but figured I'd open it and see if they were suitable. After all, it wasn't like I was planning on putting huge amounts of weight on each of them! Sadly, you could tell that the tubes that formed each handle weren't even smoothly cylindrical. You could see bumps and unevenness under the plastic coating that covered the handle threads. The collars wouldn't have spun on/off easily. The rubber grip was OK, but rather than try and use something that didn't seem well built for the purpose I returned them and placed an order for solid steel chrome handled ones instead. For a little bit extra it was well worth it.

barely had them any time %26 one side of a dumbbell has bent. wally used to sale some quality weight lifting equipment at a reasonable price but this cap brand is junk.
