Champion Barbell 48" x 1" Chrome Lat Bar

nice lat bar for low price

A great quality lat pulldown bar... Can't ask for much more considering the price. I was looking specifically for a wider 48" bar and this fits the bill perfectly. I wouldn't expect anything else out of this purchase which is why I was happy to pay the price listed on Walmart's site compared to other brands that could have been multiples more expensive. I've read that the bar over time may rust, but honestly for home gym use I can't see that happening anytime soon and if it did, really not a big deal!

Functions exactly as it should and the finish is nice, not much more to say. I'm the only one who uses it in my home gym, but it looks like it would hold up fine to use in a professional gym. If you buy this, you won't be disappointed.

My brother gave me his old Weider bench from 1991. The lateral bar was suffering, so I bought this as a replacement. Talk about the sequel being better than the original. This bar is strong, easy to grip, and is solid steel. The only surprise is its weight (13 lbs!). So if you are doing exercises for the back or angel wings where you pull the bar toward you, make sure you put enough weight on to counterweight the lateral bar.

It gets the job done effectively. Being 48" it gives you a wide variety of choices on grip placement for multiple exercises. I've used ~200lbs from this bar and doesn't budge. If you need a lat bar this is a great option. Cheapest price I could find on a lat bar (on 1/2011).

What can I say? For the price, this bar is solid, nice knurling and chrome. Kind of cheesy screw in plastic balls on the ends but overall a nice bar.

Not bad for the price, but I wish they would've stated that the bar is not the standard 45 lbs bar. Instead the ends and all of the weight hangers are made of plastic. The weights scartch them up when putting them on and off. Not to mention this thing took 7 hrs to assemble, by myself. Yes you can assemble it by yourself but it takes time. Once assembled it extremly strudy and I like it, so now its tim to get rid of this belly.

It's solid, ugly, and does what it's supposed to.
