Was looking for an alternative to deep frying Turkeys and came upon the Charbroil Big Easy. Read some reviews and took the plunge and purchased it. So far have done Turkeys, Chickens, Beef Roasts and Ribs. Everything turned out great with some tweaking and watching a few YouTube videos. Best thing is no expense for peanut oil and easy clean up. Would highly recommend the Big Easy.
I am sooo glad i purchased this before the holidays. Used it to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. No dry turkey this year and no left over turkey either. Love, love, love it!!!!!!!
We just received our Charbroil Oiless Turkey Fryer today and we've already broken it in before Thanksgiving. Haha! We just used it to make ribs and they look yummy. We have yet to taste them I'm letting them rest for a bit. The cook time was pretty good as well everything heated up thoroughly. It was easy to assemble. I can't wait to use it for our turkey.
I was uncertain of the cook time on my 10-12 lb turkey. It ended up needing to be cooked about 2.5 hours. Very easy, put bird in cage and lower into oil less fryer. Make sure you have a meat thermometer to gauge doneness. I injected my turkey beforehand which was unnecessary. Best turkey ever. Basically, no cleanup. Just empty and wash the drip pan.
This thing just works. No oil, no mess, no stress. I cooked a whole turkey and it came out juicy with crispy skin, and I didn't have to babysit it or worry about flare-ups. Setup was easy, cleanup was easy, and it feels solid, not cheap. I've used it for chicken and roasts too and everything cooks evenly and tastes great. It's basically an outdoor air fryer without the drama. If you want great results without the hassle, this is worth it.
When I started making the thanksgiving meal I was never really happy with my turkey. I tried different variations in the oven for 7 years. I wanted to try a fried turkey but the oil setup was always a con. I saw this and looked up videos and reviews and literally everyone raved about it. For $100 I figured it's worth a shot. The most difficult part was assembling the bottom skirting on it. And that's it. I put a 16lb butterball turkey in it, after the very simple seasoning process of the internal stainless steel drum, and let it got for 3 hrs. This thing cooked absolutely perfectly with no hassle. Everyone loved the turkey and things the first one I liked that I cooked. Just turn it on, keep it on high and start checking the temp after about 2 hours. I cannot believe how well this did. And for a hundred bucks you really can't beat it. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was juicy and tender. I have never been able to do that in an oven. So give it a shot!
I use to have an earlier version of the air fryer but my ex husband got it and so I bought another one. I love how crispy the outside of the turkey is and the way the inside is so juicy and tender. There is also a lot of juice from the turkey to make homemade gravy with.
i bought this for my son in law while we were frying a turkey in oil on thanksgiving. while we were talking he mentioned how much peanut oil was. I ordered this immediately while we were talking. I gave it to him as soon as it came in so he wouldn't buy one for his own Christmas. No real assembly required. The turkey was great, so juicy. It takes about 20 min to season the inner pot. super juicy turkey. we will be using this from now on. it is well constructed and maintained temperature on a fairly windy day. it is well constructed and easy to use. It requires less attention than an oil fryer.
Flame is low. Cooker came already rusted. Very easy to use. Assembly should be easy but my pre drilled holes were not lined up. Had to make my own. Used twice, both times meat took way longer to cook or never made proper temperature. Flame on high is about the same as flame on low.
Not only did the air fryer arrive late so we weren't able to use it for Thanksgiving, upon opening the box there are missing parts, which enables us to set up the fryer. The instructions are not clear, I tried looking on YouTube to find a instructional video and there's none. I wish I would've received this on time so that I could send it back the next day.
