I have been cooking with red chili peppers forever and now I have found a brand that contains a great deal more chilies than in the little glass jars. Most of what I cook has a chili or quite a few more depending upon the dish. They warm up sauces, eggs, stews and more.
I use these chile de árbol peppers for my Mexican dishes, and they're excellent. The peppers are fresh, vibrant red, and have a strong, clean heat that adds the perfect flavor to salsas, soups, and marinades. They're not dusty or stale like some other brands I've tried. The 4 oz bag is a good amount and lasts a while. Highly recommend for anyone looking to make authentic-tasting Mexican food.
I've purchased a number of dried chiles from Walmart. These are perfect for rehydrating and blending for chili, soups, salsas, and mole for that perfect chili spicy kick! They will keep for a long time too if kept in an airtight container. Definitely rinse well before using.
These add a delicious flavor to my Southwestern recipes. I gave them a 3/5 for heat because they're not hot, at least by my standards, but I didn't buy them for the Scoville heat index, I got them for flavor and gave them a 5/5 for that. Nicely packaged to keep them fresh and easy to take some out to toss into the frying pan to sear along with the meat. As an added bonus, my parrot loves them too so she gets a couple as a treat a few times a week.
Theses were exactly what I was looking for. They were not dried out. They were not crumbly these were whole and intact and still had softness to them that very useful for soups morning egg scrambles and more. And boy....these things were sizzling hot. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
I am not quite sold on the sheer spiciness of the product at this time, but there are A LOT of chilis in this package to the point where I know I won't have to get an additional pack any time soon. I also greatly appreciate the resealable container. I would buy again from this brand all in all.
I'm a lifelong "pepper belly" always on the lookout for the perfect heat for my cooking. I've tried dozens of peppers, hot sauces, and just about anything else with a fairly high Scoville rating, and I consider these to be one of the best universal heat-inducers that I've ever tried. The taste is an added delight. I like to grind these dried peppers finely to expose the seeds for heat, and I find that it's easy for me to adjust the heat simply by altering the quantity used to taste. Good product!
we used this item's to cook for others, sometimes for friends wish they love spicy on their food, as we celebrated last year but not to much this year for healthy, so we try or best with friends to give a way foods, on this new years, for church so we implied to help others that's ours goals
It is the best !! Very spicy with a definite kick. I liked the taste and the color. The chili de Arbol may be slightly difficult to open and remove the seeds to reduce the heat, so I would suggest using them whole, but in a lesser quantity. I was impressed with the amount of peppers for the value of my money!!!! Will recommend to family and friends, more importantly, I plan to keep it in stock.
Ordered these to make a homemade General Tso's chicken dish. I've been able to make it multiple times since there are so many in the one bag! A good heat, and the bag is designed well! I would recommend this to anyone looking to spice up their Chinese cooking!
