Cholula Original Taco - Medium Recipe Mix, 1.0 oz Bag

Cholula kindly gave me this mix in exchange for a review. I'm a fan! It was super easy to use, took away the guessing of making my own spice mix, and made meal prep a breeze! I've tried it with ground beef and ground turkey, and I've found that it's really balanced. It's tasty, with good depth and just the right amount of spice to be very versatile. I've found that a little goes a pretty long way. Really makes it easy to make a consistent, great meal.

If you love Cholula hot sauce, this seasoning mix is basically that flavor in taco form. It has the same smoky, slightly tangy vibe with a medium heat level that won't scare anyone off. Really balanced. You get chili, garlic, and that signature Cholula tang without it tasting like straight salt or chili powder. True to the "medium" label. There's a nice warmth on the back end, but it's family-friendly. If you want it spicier, just add a few dashes of actual Cholula hot sauce. - *Ease of use*: Super simple. Brown 1 lb of meat, add the packet + 2/3 cup water, simmer 5 min. Done. No measuring a bunch of spices. I've used it for ground beef tacos, but it's also great on sheet-pan chicken, roasted potatoes, or stirred into sour cream for a dip. One packet seasons 1 lb of meat perfectly. Downsides It's a 1oz packet, so if you're cooking for a crowd you'll need a few. If you're tired of bland taco packets and want something with actual flavor depth, this one's worth it. Tastes like Cholula + taco night had a baby.

As a Latina who does a lot of cooking with recipes passed down from mi familia, I'm pretty picky when it comes to the spices & seasonings that I use. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how flavorful this mix is. I made beef and tofu tacos & burritos with it and my husband was crazy about them! The package they sent me was medium-spicy, and my husband really appreciated that because I usually get a little loca with the heat 🥵 🌶️ lol 😅 ofc you can always add hot sauce or jalapeños. Overall, we really enjoyed how easy it was to use, and how great it tasted. Definitely recommend!!

Opted to use in an alternative recipe - went with a taco Mac. Ease of use 10/10. We have used several brands of taco seasoning but this one's different. The depth of the flavor is impeccable, because of this it tasted like I put blood sweat and tears into it! Will be using as my first choice moving forward!

I've always loved cholula's hot sauce so I was so excited to try the taco seasoning. Crunch wraps are on our regular weekly rotational meals! So we're always using taco seasoning for it. We typically use a generic seasoning but I feel like it makes such a difference when you are using QUALITY. The seasoning isn't too salty, perfect for pork or beef. We typically use beef and love it. Definitely recommend!

I figured this version of a taco seasoning packet would have a bit of a kick to it being it is from Cholula and it is the perfect amount. Very delicious. Has that classic taco taste but a bit of a spicy punch but not too much! It's just enough. I would definitely purchase this again. Not sure my kids will eat it with the spice but I'd even love to try this in different recipes besides tacos! Reallly impressed.

I liked this taco mix because it didn't have cumin and chili powder. It wasn't overpowering with the spices that it did have and it had a nice flavor. I used it for soft beef tacos and I liked the wholesome ingredients and no msg. I will definitely buy this the next time I want to make Mexican food and would recommend it to friends.

I was gifted the opportunity to try this Cholula taco seasoning by BzzAgent free of charge. I am always looking for things that make family dinners easy, delicious, quick, and better than fast food. I used this seasoning in ground chicken and combined it with several different types of beans and vegetables to make a taco salad for after our son's baseball game. The mixture tasted amazing both hot out of the pan and after cooling in the fridge. It was so convenient to use this mix and my family really enjoyed the taste. My 9- year- old declared it "not too spicy, just enough spicy." While it is slightly lower in sodium than my usual taco seasoning mix, I would still like to see a lower sodium option, which is my reasoning for not giving a full 5-star review. Overall, the convenience and flavor will have me purchasing this taco seasoning again in the near future.

Made this for taco night with my family and while the taste was average the heat was a little too much and didn't seem to evenly mix with all the meat well. The flavor was okay but it wasn't like any taco mix we have tried before. It was nice to have as a free sample but I don't think we would pick this one again.
