Lawry's Taco Seasoning Mix, 1.0 oz Packet

I used the Lawry's taco seasoning to make nachos at home. Typically, I buy a low sodium variety. Lawry's sent me this free sample through BzzAgent in exchange for an honest review. Since I'm trying to consume less sodium, I only used half a pack for about 1.5 pounds of ground turkey. Although I used a smaller amount, the meat was still well seasoned and tasted great with my other ingredients. It's a pretty standard taco seasoning packet that is comparable to other brands I have tried. If you're watching your sodium, half a pack is just enough. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone that loves a good taco night.

This is a good taco seasoning. There's nothing super special about it, but it's not a bad seasoning, either. My spouse already has a preferred brand, but he didn't mind this one being substituted, which is saying something since he can be quite picky at times.

The seasoning itself made the taco meat taste how I remember my mom making them years and years ago. It had the perfect blend of cumin, garlic and onion all while not tasting too salty. The spice was just right. It was exactly the way I like it and my family loved them. They now want tacos regularly. I love that I didn't have to add any extra ingredients to adjust the flavor. By far some of the best tacos I've ever made.

Now, the flavoring is not authentic, but the flavor was still good and not obnoxious like some others that overpower with cumin. The extra water helps make the meat juicy and not dry. I really liked the flavor of the seasoning, it gave the tacos a really nice authentic feel. The only con is that I felt it was on the salty side - I did use finely diced beef instead of the recommended ground beef or ground chicken, so maybe that was the issue. So I'm looking forward to trying it again with one of those two!
