Old El Paso Mild Red Enchilada Sauce, Meal Prep, 10 oz

I can make a Mexican meal comparable to a restaurant, but a lot cheaper. Frozen burritos, Isadora 90 second refried beans and 90 second rice of your choice. I use brown. Heat separately in microwave and then put together on a plate. Add sauce , Mexican white cheese and microwave 30 seconds and Viola. I use mostly Great Value products. It's that easy.

I got the mild sauce because we don't like it hot and this has no heat at all, I made beef and bean enchiladas with flour tortillas. They turned out great but I should have bought the larger can, definitely buy again. This sauce is also good to drizzle over the top of taquitos in the freezer section which I should have done this time, less work and dishes lol.

We use this Old El Paso enchilada sauce all the time for our homemade enchilada recipe, and it never disappoints. The mild flavor is smooth, rich, and not too spicy/just right. It coats the tortillas perfectly and adds great depth to the dish. A staple in our pantry.

A great addition to your pantry. I began using it for Mexican dishes but soon discovered it was great with chicken and in assorted casseroles and I'm sure many other recipes that I have not conquered yet! The flavor isn't over-powering, just the right "heat" for most dishes! I also have used it for a spicier meatloaf, and it was well received! Experiment and see what you can come up with! If you are looking for staples with no soy, this is your ticket! The heat level is great, right in the middle! I have added some pepper for additional heat when desired and that works great! You can also go the smoky route with your meats and it is still delicious! I haven't tried it on wings, but hmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I should!

This is a pantry essential! Good flavor and brightens up any Mexican snack. Perect to use on frozen taquitos or burritos, just add with shredded Fiesta cheese! I always have it on hand. tip: use an old fashioned can punch opener to pour it like canned milk. Mix it gently before pouring.

I usually keep this on hand because I make Mexican style foods often. I use this on frozen burritos and Mexican omelettes. I also use it on home made quesadillas. It has a nice flavor and it's not too spicy which I like because I'm an old white German heritage guy who can't handle hot spices.

I only use this El Paso mild sauce for my Enchiladas, all the other sauces out there are way to spicy. There is is plenty of flavor and mild spice to make this sauce work, I usually make Chicken Enchiladas, with just shredded chicken, cheese, olives and yellow onion. This sauce is perfect combined with these ingredients. I would suggest buying an extra can, since the sauce is a little thinner than most, and I add a little extra sauce on top of the casserole dish. It comes out Delicious every time!!! This is also my Go-To Sauce for adding flavor to my homemade chicken soup, it adds great flavor with just a teeny amount of spice, (not hot al all) the soup doesn't turn red it just deepens the color of the broth a little. Everyone who eats my chicken soup loves it and asks for the secret ingredient. There is another competitor's can of enchilada sauce that looks similar and says mild, but it is way too spicy. I only recommend the mild sauce of Old El Paso Sauce, it adds an authentic flavor of traditional mexican food without packing spice and heat that burns your taste buds. During the holidays, we heat it up and spoon a bit on our homemade tamales with a few sprinkles of cilantro, the guest love them. I know once you purchase this sauce you will start using it on a variety of foods like i did because it has nice spices and tastes so yummy!

I only rated it four stars for taste and spiciness because I prefer medium, but they were out. As far as value for money, I gave it four stars because the cans seem to be getting smaller and the price seems to be going up (shrink-flatiion) just like everything else. I'll probably be making my own from now on.

i am so trying to find the one that tastes like taco bell red sauce..i added cumin and it was close..food lion brand was actually closer

Meh, is all I can say about the Old El Paso red enchilada sauce. It's the first and LAST time I will buy this. Nothing special about the flavor, it was kind of plain. Probably the worst enchilada sauce I've had. The green one isn't as bad, so I had faith that the red would be decent too, but I was wrong. It required quite a bit of tweeking to use. This is just my opinion.
