Overall its a pretty good flash light! My husband really needed one for work and he likes it because its not too big nor too small. Just the right size.
The focus feature actually perfoms quite well. A simple slide or twist of the front lens assembly changes the beam shape from very wide flood to a more concentrated center bright beam.
For all the hype, the flashlight did not meet my expectations as far as durability and brightness. I would have been just as satisfied buying the $3 flashlight. If it was a little brighter I would have recommended it for the price.
I cannot evaluate its longevity since I have barely used it by this point. But it is bright enough to help in emergencies or to have in your car (which is why I bought it). I would not bring it to the middle of a forest, however. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it lacks more functionality besides changing focal distance.
This "rechargeable" battery flashlight doesnt happen to come with the part(s) needed to make that option immediately possible. Returning. Sucks because I had to tear it out of the packaging to find out. hate wasting packaging. Choose another product that INCLUDES the battery already included.
Pros- "technically", it IS a flashlight. You punch the button on one end, light comes out the other end. Cons- IT IS NOT "RECHARGABLE". Those people thinking you will buy something with a USB charging port, this ain't it. Unscrew the bottom and out pops cartridge with 3 AAA batteries. 2) "Lights up to 177 meters". ONLY IF YOU LAUNCH IT WITH A CATAPULT. WILL BARELY LIGHT UP 10 YARDS AWAY. 3) Adjustable bezel for "flood to spotlight". NOPE. THE BEZEL DOES NOT ADJUST. IT'S WIDE BEAM FLOOD LIGHT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS LIGHT.
I bought this online. I relied on the description in the search to tell me what I was getting. I specifically designated RECHARGEABLE flashlight. This flashlight came up under that search as RECHARGEABLE and Coast even has RECHARGEABLE on the package....it ALSO has "not included" in small print, WHICH YOU CAN'T READ IN ONLINE PICTURES! Wait a minute….What does "not included mean" mean? Is it rechargeable or not? well...It DOES include ALKALINE BATTERIES, but if you want it to be rechargeable (which is how it was billed) you can actually put rechargeable batteries in it! YAAAAAY! I JUST BOUGHT A REGULAR OLD FLASHLIGHT THAT I CAN PUT RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN! WHO'D A EVER THOUGHT OF THAT??!!! That makes it POTENTIALLY rechargeable, just like a million other flashlights that can run on rechargeable batteries, that are sold as REGULAR BATTERY POWERED FLASHLIGHTS, NOT RECHARGEABLE! In case you haven't noticed, I'm angry with Walmart and Coast for adding THE FINE PRINT we now have to read when buying a flashlight! It was presented as RECHARGEABLE....IT AIN'T!
I bought this flashlight because it was advertised as rechargeable. it is not actually rechargeable. there is an available accessory that is a rechargeable battery cassette. there is not even a charging port on the flashlight to charge it. I have very specifically needed a rechargeable flashlight and this one will not work for my needs. unfortunately, I had already opened and used it in the process of figuring out how it worked so now I'm stuck with it.
Don't waste your money. Not rechargeable. The battery you have to buy is. BUT you can't buy the battery from Walmart. Too large and bulky. Not a great product.
misleading packaging, counting on people to not pay close attention to what packaging actually says, and yeah they got me. maybe worth 5 bucks. their rechargeable batteries cost twice as much as this light. you lost a customer coast.
