I was recently out of power for 8 days got power back for two then out another 3 days due to several storms. These things really work well with the canned fuel and heat up things in a reasonable amount of time. I even cooked full meals with them and I only used about 1 3/4 cans of fuel the entire time I was out of power. I spent more money on ice! Fully recommend with no reservations.
does the trick for an emergency! holds a small pot, skillet or coffee pot for minor cooking. sturdy enough-- stronger than the sterno kit stove I think-- but both are o.k. I got one of each. coghlan stove is painted black so I imagine first use will burn that off [with paint odor?] must buy all extras-- canned fuel and waterproof matches a must in bulk! fuel goes fast but better than nothing if power goes off for an hour or a week+. a necessity to put in an emergency kit or for camping. could be used indoors by setting it on a stove top or in a metal sink. canned fuel is low odor / low smoke and safe indoors with careful use-- adults only. cost 3-13-14 was $8.49 each- stove only. shop around for fuel in bulk boxes for better prices. 12-24-36-72 can boxes can be less than a dollar a can. 6 sterno here is over $20.00. i'm pleased with this product!!
Great little stand/windscreen. Have used it with solid alcohol cubes and also with my trangia style alcohol stove. Keeps the wind and breeze in check quite well. Got 2 1/2 cups of water to boil in about six and half minutes. It's also very sturdy and can handle larger pots.
Pretty much a survival type stove. Good for heating up food in small portions or heating water/beverage/coffee in small volumes when no other heat source is around. Can add heat to small area or warm up hands when its cold outside. Also, great for sengeing ducks/geese/doves/quail once they are plucked.
These have been around for years. I used one of these, similar to this one, when I was station in Germany back in the 60"s and the winters are cold. They work very well.
I was surprised by the thickness of the steel used in this camp stove when I opened the box. Assembles pretty well. I only tried it with a small pan to test heating water, but I'm sure it could hold a heavier pot if necessary.
Great to take with you on camping trips or power loss due to storms you can use it inside to cook. Just use the canned heat & cook away. Its folds so it will fit in your backpack.
Bought this based on previous reviews. It is for Emergency use in case of power outages. It fits together really easily & seems very sturdy.
Have tried similar products, This one work whole lot better. Much easier to use & just works a lot better.
It was a gift to another. I wish that there was a neutral option, so one could be honest with the “scoring” system. I have no clue as to what the recipient thought about their gift, so I will not assume and there lies the need for another option. Sincerely and respectfully, A verified Walmart customer since there was a first Walmart in my area in the early 70s, well over 50 years ago.
